On April 19, 2014 I had the chance to go skydiving with my family. It was such an amazing experience and I will definitely do it again. Someone was nice enough to pay for my sister and I to go. I am so blessed to have some amazing people in my life. She sure do care and I am so grateful for their examples. We went to Urda just past Tooele to do it. It was very funny because before we went to get all suited up to go we watched this 15 minute video on what to do when you were going to jump out of the airplane. The guy had the longest beard I had ever seen. I was wondering if it was actually fake lol. He gave us different symbols such as chicken wing and banana. It was very interesting for sure. Then we all got suited up and each of us had a photographer as and a video man who filmed us and took pictures. I am so glad we signed up for that because those memories are going to last forever. Bri and I had also never been in an airplane before so that was pretty fun on top of being able to go skydiving. I strongly recommend going skydiving at least once in your life. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I will post pics later.
I am sorry it has been a while more than a year since my last post. I have been kept busy and have been too busy to post anything. This year has been a difficult one for our family but it has brought us together and brought with me a new perspective on things.
About a month ago my Brother Bryce passed away unexpectedly. We were all totally in shock when this happened. We had no idea what was going on with him. It was such a loss for him to go. However I am grateful to have been with him for so many years and to experiences great memories with him.
My most recent one was going coning with him. If you don't know what coning is briefly its going to a fast food restaurant buying an ice cream cone instead of taking it by the cone you take it by the cream part. It was so much fun doing that with him. The great thing was I got it on video too. I will never forget that.
We also went on a few vacations this summer from Snowbird to Camping. I loved the vacation up to Snowbird. We went hiking and went and did the activities up there. Unfortunately Bryce fell off the Alpine Slide and got burned pretty bad. We all felt bad for him. He was so strong regardless of that.
We loved Bryce's sense of humor. He made everyone of us laugh. I loved him. I knew he could give me a good laugh. He was so nice and considerate to those around him. He was well loved by his family and friends. I will never forget him. I am grateful to know that I will see him in the next life. I am looking forward to that moment being able to reunite with him and other family members that have passed on.
Until we meet again love ya Bryce
On Saturday my Mom, Anne, and I had the chance to go see Tim McGraw in concert at the USANA Ampitheatre. This time we payed a little bit more to be in the seats. Let me just say that it was well worth the extra money.
The concert was amazing. Tim McGraw knows how to give great concerts. The two bands the performed him for good as well. The Band Perry started it off and did a great job. They were followed by a guy name Luke Bryan who wasn't too bad. Then we were finally able to see Tim McGraw after a good amount of time of waiting.
Here are some pictures of the concert:
This past week I started school which was very interesting for a few reasons. I started on Thursday for my math class. The thing is I signed up for a 7am class, which would mean that in order to catch the bus I would have to get up at 5am, since the bus comes at 6. I have to admit though it hasn't been too bad as long I am in bed by 10, it works fine.
On Thursday, I went to math not knowing at all that the teacher wouldn't show up. Today, when I went to math the teacher told us how sorry she was for not coming. Her excuse, which I found funny myself, was that she slept through three of her alarms plus she missed a call from her sister. She's a pretty deep sleeper I have to say. Anyways, this class went a lot better.
Later on, I went to Lehi Junior High School for my history class with Scott Birell. Mr. Birell taught and is still currently teaching at Lone Peak High School where I went. Everyone that I have heard really liked him so I thought I would try him out myself. The first class went pretty well. However, from what my siblings and others have said, he's hard. So having that in mind I'm going to do the very best I can in that class.
Last week was also my birthday. I turned nineteen years old which I still find hard to believe. Only one year away till I'm twenty and not a teenager anymore. Wow, time sure flies by, that's for sure. Anyways, for my bday I went clothes shopping and found some really cute clothes that I liked. Then, I went and saw the movie Salt. Let me just say it's one of my favorite movies that I saw this summer. It's full of action and suspense, what more could you ask for? Plus, the acting is really good, especially by Angelina Jolie. My birthday ended by going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. They give you a lot of food for a pretty good price. The two times I have been there now I didn't even finish half my food.
All in all, it was a very good birthday and so far this week has been good too.
It has been a very long time since I posted I decided I would update it with things going on in my life.
A couple of weeks ago my family and I were able to do the Salt Lake Connect Pass. It gets you into 14 different attractions to an amazingly low price. There are different options varying from one day passes all the way to yearly passes.
Out of everything we did the favorites of mine were the Zoo, the Lionhouse, and the Clark Planetarium. First off, who doesn't like the zoo! All right, there are probably a few who hate walking around in the 90 degree weather looking at animals. But I absolutely love it. I look forward going to the zoo at least once a year. I'll admit my favorite animal is one that people would think weird but I love crocodiles nonetheless. The only disappointing thing about seeing the crocodiles are that they are always sleeping. The rest of the zoo was a lot of fun.
Of course I liked the Lionhouse for the food. What else do you go there for?
The Clark Planetarium is fun every year just like the zoo, especially when you see the right movie there. We watched three movies there, in the which the two IMAX movies, "The Conquest of Everest", and "Hubble 3D" were the ones that entertained me the most. The star show about the Maya Skies just had crappy animation, the narrator talked strange, and it just wasn't appealing to me. Note to self: do not go and see star shows at the Clark Planetarium unless they are actually worth watching. Sorry to all you star show lovers and I hate to break it to ya but they just aren't that good.
Then a week or so after that we were able to go camping up in the AF Canyon and enjoy everything up there. The first night of sleeping was the worst because it just poured hard down on us. The second night was not bad at all. It barely rained that day and I don't think it ever rained during the night. The last day was fun. We were able to go to Silver Lake to fish, go rafting, and just go hangout. Camping Trips are always a blast except the worst part is packing and unpacking. There is so much you have to do and you just get tired after a while.
Lastly, the event that I was most looking forward to was the Tim McGraw concert. Of course, he lived up to everybody's expectations. Before he sang there were two other bands before him. Lady Antebellum was one of the two bands to go and they performed really well. My favorite songs they sang were "Need You Now" and "I Run to You." Basically, I loved all of the songs Tim McGraw sang. He sure knows how to entertain a crowd. That's for sure. All in all it was a great night, despite sitting in the parking lot traffic for about forty five minutes and interestingly enough we even saw a fist fight break out between girls. Crazy, huh?
Overall, I had an awesome July and I look forward towards this fall, meaning I am way excited for football season to start! Finally!
For the first time ever, I went shooting. Let me just say that it's not as easy as it looks but it was a lot of fun, especially knocking over soda cans. We went up by Utah Lake and they have a lot of good spots to go shooting up there, so that is what we did.
We shot for a couple of hours or so and then stopped by Arctic Circle for an ice cream cone. ( Side note: Just to let you know don't ever go to McDonald's for ice cream. There ice cream is good but they rip you off with how little they give you for a $1. Arctic Circle gives you double the amount that McDonald's give you for only .64 cents. That is a way better deal). Then we headed back home.
This year in the draft I was anxious and excited to see who the Jazz would get. Turns out they picked 6"8, small forward Gordon Hayward. The thing that made me sort of irritated in this whole deal were the reactions from the fans. At the Energy Solutions Arena there were more boos than cheers. It's absolutely ridiculous. It seems like they complain every year with who the Jazz get. I don't blame them for wanting to draft bigger guys like Ed Davis or Greg Monroe, but Gordon Hayward is still pretty good.
Here are some reasons why the Jazz made a good decision by drafting Gordon Hayward. First off, Hayward led his underdog Butler team to the national championship against Duke. I mean people weren't even expecting Butler to make it past even the first round and they only lost by two points to Duke. Secondly, Hayward averaged about 15 points a game. So he was one of the top scorers on the team. Thirdly, he can rebound. In the NBA, rebounding is crucial especially having to out rebound the big guys on the Lakers. And lastly, Hayward to me seems like a nice guy. When he heard about the reactions from the fans he wasn't offended by them. In fact he even said, he wants to get out there on the floor and show the fans what he's capable of. I think Hayward will definitely do that.
I like how Kevin O'Conner pointed out about John Stockton. When we drafted him, the crowd booed him and look how far John Stockton has come. Let me just give you some basic statistics about him. He's a Hall of Famer, he played in 10 all star games, he was part of the Olympic "Dream Team", he was named as one of the fifty greatest players in NBA history, and he appeared in a couple of final appearances.
I hope that sends a message to everyone. You can't judge a book just based on the cover. I have to admit in the years past the Jazz have not picked the greatest but regardless of who the Jazz get every year I am not going to criticize them for who they get. The organization gets to decide and I think that Kevin O'Conner felt like Hayward could help the Jazz in the years down the road. Let's hope that he does that..jpg)
I am happy to say that I finally went and tried Five Guys Burgers and Fries out. I have been wanting to try out this place for a while and I finally got my chance so I did.
Let me just say that the fries are to die for. They are so good. These fries, in my opinion, are better than JCW's, IKEAs, Icebergs, and In-n-Outs. What made them so good was that they were the long and big ones, not the wimpy, small ones at In-n-Outs. They were were delicious. The hamburger was pretty good as well.
I recommend this burger joint for sure. If you are in the mood for hamburgers and fries check out Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
So today Bryce and I attempted to hike up to the Y. We seriously didn't realize what we were getting ourselves into. It all started when we were driving up there. It was a yellow light and I didn't want to stop so I risked it and turns out it changes to red. A car is already turning and I have to slam on my brakes so I don't hit the car. That would've been an accident we would not have enjoyed or liked for that matter.
So after all that, we finally were able to use our Google Map directions and get to the trail to the Y in no time. We found the trail and started hiking for two miles or so and we are getting towards the end and all that we saw was a fence and a car parking lot. I was not happy. So, we decided why don't we just climb up the mountains and see if we can find the Y that way. Turns out that was the worst idea ever. We start climbing higher and higher, and by the way we went off the trail and tried to find it ourselves. Don't ever do that when you are hiking it never works out let me just say. So when we didn't find it we finally came back down and tried to find it again.
Guess what we did again. We climbed up the mountains. That was the hardest for sure because basically we had to climb straight up and I was getting so tired it was killing me. I had no energy left in me. I really do like hiking. It's just when we don't find what we are looking for it's not as fun as it could be. Then there's Bryce who is way ahead of me who is acting like its a piece of cake for him. It was too bad because we didn't find the Y. We had to come back being frustrated, angry, and disappointed for not finding it. Did I forget to mention that we did see it but it was from a distance, not like being actually there.
So, it wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be. But there were some cool things though. Being able to see all of Provo, such as the Lavell Edwards Stadium, the Marriott Center, the baseball stadium, the BYU dorms, the campus in general, the temple, seven peaks, and the valley itself. The scenery was awesome for sure. Here are some photos that I took with my phone camera. Enjoy!!

On May 1st, we celebrated my Grammie's 70th birthday at our church building. It was fun to see the family get together for a party. The best thing was we held the party at the church and we had it in the gym so we were able to play basketball, which was a lot of fun by the way, even more fun with more people that participated.
The food was great as well. The main dish was pork sandwiches which were delicious, with sides of salads, chips, and drinks. The dessert was of course cake and ice cream. It doesn't get any better than that. I would enjoyed it more had I not been feeling a little sick.
Anyways here are some pictures from the party itself.

Tonight at midnight I am going to see Iron Man 2. I am so excited to go see it. It looks amazing so hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Plus this is the first midnight movie I have ever gone to so I hoping that it will be worth it. I am sure it will.
On Wednesday, I finally got to go watch a jazz game. My brother and I went up to the district (megaplex theatre) to watch. The best thing was that it didn't cost anything. Plus we got to watch it on a the theatre size screen so that was pretty cool.
Overall, it was a very fun and entertaining game to watch despite seeing the jazz lost. Seriously, I know I blame the refs a lot for games but seriously no joke these refs seemed like they were favoring Denver. They called a lot of stupid calls on us, and then when it looked like Denver fouled the jazz they didn't call it. I was pretty mad at that. I mean this is the NBA, people. Can't the organization get good refs. I mean these refs on Wednesday night seemed to be more like high school refs. Anyways that's all I have to say about the issue.
It was pretty cool too cause on commercials the staff would throw on some contests and they even gave away free popcorn too. I wish I could watch every jazz basketball game at the theatre. But, unfortunately they only show the away games, not the home ones.
Last Wednesday, I got my braces off for good. I am so happy and relieved to have them off. Having them on and off for over seven years or so took some patience but in the end it was worth it.

So the NBA Playoffs have officially began. The question is who is going to win it all? Of course, I would really want the Jazz to win. However, that would be highly unlikely since Andrei Kirilenko is out for an injury and then just recently Mehmet Okur re-injured himself, and guess what he's out for the season. How much worse can it get for them? Seriously.
I hate when players get injuries, especially now in the playoffs where it is the most important part of the season. The Jazz sure aren't the Cavilers, who I think by the way are going to win it all. Look at the Cavs, and tell me that they aren't the hottest team in the NBA, because they sure look like it. They have Lebron James of course and now Shaq is back too and is more healthy than ever. They also have Antawn Jamison and they have other players as well who are also good including former Jazzman Mo Williams, Anderson Varejao, and Delonte West. From what I have heard and seen they are most powerful team in the NBA right now along with the Lakers.
This Jazz team this year no doubt has had a heck of a year though. On Saturday, the Jazz did in fact stay in the game for the most part until they collapsed in the fourth quarter. However, I think even without Kirilenko and Okur the Jazz can win the first round of the playoffs against Denver. The only thing I suggest though to the Jazz, is they need to stop Carmelo Anthony. They cannot afford to give him nights the way they did Saturday, giving him forty two points. If we can contain him then we have a way good chance of beating them in the playoffs. Go Jazz!!
Since I am bored and I have nothing to write about I might as well write about my dream job. If you know me you know I am really into sports, not just like an average sports fan or whatever but I get really into sports.
I love playing sports and watching them. I love playing basketball and tennis. Those are my two favorite sports that I like to play. On the other hand, my favorite sports that I like to watch are football and also basketball.
Anyways, giving you that background on me you probably get the idea of what my dream job would be. I would love to go into Sports Journalism and eventually either become a sports writer or a sports reporter (I am leaning towards the reporter more). I am thinking that maybe I could work for ESPN too, that would be pretty cool.
Being able to interview big football stars from Peyton Manning to Drew Brees to basketball stars such as Deron Williams to Lebron James. Let me just say that would be awesome for me. Plus, as a reporter you get to be really close to the staff and players and you even are able to get a good seat too. Imagine that.
The only bad thing about colleges around here in Utah is they don't really have any sports journalism majors to go into. The one that would be close to that, that a lot of colleges have is sports medicine, and that is a field I most definitely am not interested in that.
Anyways, we will see what happens. It would be pretty amazing being able to do that.
During Spring Break my mom and I had the chance to go out to Vernal. The main reason that we went there was my mom had to do some work there. After she got her work done we were able to go to a few places and site see.
The first place we went to was the Dinosaur Museum. My expectations weren't that high going into the Museum. However, I thought it was a really fun Museum. I learned some new things as well. Here are some pictures of us exploring the Museum:

The second place we went to was a state park called Red Fleets. It's called Red Fleets because the trees look like a fleet of ships. Anyways, the scenery was very beautiful there. Here are some pictures from Red Fleets:

The third and last place we went to on our day trip was the Vernal Temple. We didn't actually get to go inside it because there wasn't enough time but we got to take pictures of it on the outside so it was still pretty cool. However, I am so used to modern temples that we have now that it was completely different seeing an older temple. It was built in 1907 so its like 103 years old I think if I am doing my math right that is. Here are some pictures from that:

We finally took off and said goodbye to Vernal and headed home. Here is a picture of me enjoying my Carl's Jr. Dinner. It was delish!
Overall, I really enjoyed going up to Vernal for a day trip. You would be amazed to see how much there actually is do in Vernal.
I for one am not a fan of the snow, especially it being spring and April and the weather still continues to be snowy and cold. We have had some days though that have been pretty nice but then again we have also had days that have been cold as well. The weather here in Utah is very unpredictable. Right now its seems like it is being a bit bipolar. This weather just needs to settle down and start warming up.
This needs to turn into
This
Every year Bryce does something on April Fools Day. Last year it was turning the milk green and having a container of Lego's come crashing down on my head when I wasn't expecting it, this year was kind of different.
Being the clever boy that he is he decided to go to the circuit board down stairs and turn half of the switches off. Basically, half of our lights and plugs worked. Me being as clueless as I was wondered why the heck some of the lights and plugs worked and some didn't. For example, I was making a smoothie today and when I went to turn on the switch to the blender it wouldn't turn on. So I tried plug after plug until finally the plug by the desk worked.
My mom came downstairs to the storage room to see what was going on. Sure enough, she takes me down there and on the circuit board is a note that says, "April Fools." Bryce is a real jokester, let me tell ya.
He also poured water on Chris, however Chris got him back worse by pouring more water on him then Bryce did to Chris. Don't you just love April Fool's Day. It's fun to pull pranks on people as long as your not the victim.
Even Google, played an April Fool's Joke by being Topeka, or something like that, I don't know the full details, but people sure are creative on April Fool's Day, that's for sure.
This March Madness has been crazy. There have been so many upsets by higher seed teams. For example Cornell, an Ivy League school making it to the sweet Sixteen, are you kidding me? No one expected them to even win the first round and they made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen, pretty impressive I have to say.
Then, look at Northern Iowa, another school like Cornell that no one thought would win. But they keep on winning and impressing a lot of people, especially winning over top seeded Kansas, which completely ruined my bracket because I had Kansas winning it all.
Then just last night, Butler winning over Syracuse. Who would have predicted that? These small schools have been working their butts off for sure. This March Madness has been a huge surprise to everyone.
Even President Obama picked Kansas like me to win it all. I don't really know whats happened to these top schools. Kansas, Georgetown, Villanova (which was the least impressive #2 seed in the whole tournament seeing that they barely won against Robert Morris and lost the next game against Saint Mary's), and Syracuse, I mean they were supposed to be top teams but apparently not.
In my bracket, I chose the four #1 seeds to be in the final four. So I had Kansas, Syracuse, Kentucky, and Duke in it. Half of the teams I thought would be in the final four are now gone. In the finals, I had Kentucky and Kansas playing but that isn't going to happen. I think the championship will be between Kansas State and Kentucky, and I actually don't know who will win because both teams have a lot of talent and they both could win. We will see what happens though.
But anyways the game last night between Xavier and Kansas State was amazing. Two overtimes, I really Xavier could have pulled it off against Kansas State but in the end Kansas State was able to pull out the victory.

Last week I was fortunate enough to go to California. Let me just say that it was a lot of fun. It was nice being in a place where the average temperature was in the 70's. During the week we were able to go and some fun things.
On Tuesday, we were able to go to the Getty Museum. It was an amazing museum plus we didn't have to pay for admission. I was just amazed by everything in the museum. the architecture, the beautiful gardens, and just the Museum itself. Here are some pictures from the Getty.
Then on Wedensday and Friday we were able to go Malibu and spend time at the Zuma Beach. It was a lot of fun. We even saw Dolphins jump out of the water. It was pretty cool. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of them but we still took some awesome pictures at the beach. Here they are.O>
Then on Saturday we were able to go to the LA temple and the Santa Monica Pier. Here are pictures from that.
Overall, it was a very fun trip despite all the long hours driving in the car. I look forward to going again.
A few days ago I got my first missionary letter from my friend who is currently in the MTC right now. Next week, actually on St. Patrick's Day in fact, he will be going to Missouri to teach the people there. I am really excited for him to go share the gospel to other people. Everybody has said their missions have been the best two years of their lives hopefully it will be for Elder Davis.
From the letter I got he seems to be doing really well, even though its kind of hard for him to adjust to a schedule that has his whole day planned out for him, but it will be worth it for sure.
Every mission is hard regardless if you are in a foreign country or in an English speaking state or country. I know have said this a lot on how he will do really well but seriously he will. Plus, he gets to go to Missouri where a lot of the church historical sites are. That's pretty cool. Counting today, he has been in the MTC for two weeks and one day. The thing I like about going on a mission in the u.s., compared to a foreign country, you get to go out to your mission sooner to teach. I am not saying that going to a foreign country for a mission is bad, it actually would be really, it's just harder having to learn another language.
With the missionary activity we did when I was in Young Women's that experience has motivated me to someday serve a mission. I just think it would be awesome to share the Gospel with other people who don't know the truthfulness of it.
