After a bit of a snafu with SSL certificates and changing hosts, Zelda Legends, Legends Alliance, and North Castle are back up.
It looks like the Fan Fiction section has been broken for the last few months. This has now been fixed.
Text dumps for the Chinese version of OOT are now available on the OOT Text Dump page. Shout out to Jhynjhiruu for sending this to me a long time ago, sorry it took so long to post it!
Back in 2018 I was lucky enough to get in touch with one James Rolfe via e-mail (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd). I posted on the Facebook page but I have decided to put them on the website as well. The interview is a bit brief, but was so cool to get some insights from a a gaming legend.
[1] What was the first Zelda game you played?
The original. I thought Link's name was Zelda, since he was the main character.
[2] What was your favourite Zelda game, prior to Ocarina of Time?
Link to the Past. Still is. That's the one I thought perfected the style of the original, and will always be the classic format of a Zelda game, for me.
[3] Do you think Zelda transitioned well to 3D?
It transitioned perfectly to 3D, but Ocarina (and onward) to me still represents a different type of Zelda game. It's the modern version.
[4] Do you prefer the more open ended approach that the original Legend of Zelda went for and do you think that approach, also seen in Breath of the Wild, should be the route the series takes?
Less linear? Yes. I love the open exploration in Breath of the Wild. I think they got it best there. But it doesn't matter to me too much if you have to complete the tasks in any set order.
[5] When did you first discover the CDi Zelda Trilogy?
Not until I was creating web series. People brought them up to me. I never heard of them, and was surprised they existed. I never heard them advertised once back then.
[[6] Aside from them, what is your least favourite Zelda game?
I'm not sure. Besides the CDI trilogy, I didn't care that much for some of the DS games which required use of the stylus pen.
Zelda Legends and Legends Alliance were down for a bit, but are back up now. Apologies for the inconvenience. I am going to work on improving the uptime monitoring and automating regular maintenance for things such as disk cleanup.
Currently a lot of topics and posts are missing on the forums. It seems like this was caused by topic archiving wrecking havoc. The unarchiving process is very slow, so I'm looking into ways to speed up the process. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The site will be down most of the day tomorrow while we move to a smaller server.
There will be some downtime tomorrow morning as we move to a new server. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and there won't be any issues. But if the site is behaving a little strangely, you'll know why, and I'll be working on it. [UPDATE] The migration is complete, and everything should be back to normal now.
Hello, so this site has been rather quiet the last couple of years. However, davogones has recently taken over the hosting for this site and is working on tidying up some elements. However, we are looking for new volunteers as he is really keen on getting this site active again.
A guy called Matt Fox contacted Zelda Legends concerning a wave of pop-culture themed advent calenders, including a recreation of Majora's mask. For those who haven't already heard about it yet, here is the link below.
