Dinner at the Chef's Table with Playboy and Tracy McGregor! 20 May 2011 5:23 AM (14 years ago)

Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest at the chef's table at Zorgvliet Wine Estate, hosted by Playboy cover girl, Tracy McGregor! The hand-picked guests included the likes of Guess model and Peroni girl, Landi Swanepoel; another Playboy hopeful, Cyndy Stroebel; journalist from the Sondag newspaper, Riaan Bam; Deidre, Karen and Sean, who all work at Playboy SA, and many more!

Upon entering the cellar at Zorgvliet, I walked towards a long, elegantly decorated, table and it just took my breath away. All I could get out was 'wow'. The chefs prepared an absolutely exquisite 5-course meal, with different wines to compliment each meal, which was out of this world. It was such an honour to have a seat next to Tracy, because we spoke a lot and she even shared advice and tips on modelling and the tough industry. Great company, hot girls, great food, great wine... it all just contributed to the night's huge success!

This was the menu for the night:

Tuna Tartare in a Citrus dressing with Parsley, finished with litchi sorbet
Wine: Zorgvliet Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Scallop Ravioli and Butter Poached Crayfish served in a Corn Veloute with Coconut and Lemongrass foam
Wine: Zorgvliet white 2008

Fricassée of Lamb Sweetbreads, Wildfield mushrooms and truffle oil
Wine: Zorgvliet Silver Myn - Pinot Noir 2009

Kudu Wellingtong served on a vanilla and parsnip puree with Wilted Watercress and Clove Jus
Wine: Zorgvliet Shiraz 2004

Spiced Dark Chocolate Mousse with Cassis and Berry Sorbet
Wine: Zorgvliet Pinotage 2005

In between courses, we chatted, enjoyed wine or cucumber water whilst making small talk or enjoying the occasional smoke-break. I am such a fan of the models, Tracy and Landi. Even though they have achieved so much in their careers, they are such awesome, modest, sweet girls. My inspiration. Before I get too carried away, take a look at the pictures instead. This tells the story after all.

I took my cousin along as my date.

Fellow Playboy casting girl, Cyndy Stroebel, and I

Thank you for signing our (or is it your) magazines, Tracy!

Thank you to everyone at Playboy for inviting me to this coveted event! Cheers to yet another successful night.

It's Friday and I... 20 May 2011 2:08 AM (14 years ago)

... hate photo-bombers! Seriously. Who is that guy?
... should hear the outcome from Playboy SA soon!
... had some errors with Blogger, but I'm back online and will still blog about the Playboy dinner at Zorgvliet! Rather late than never!
... am so in love with Lady Gaga's new song, Judas.
... was a judge last night at a local high school for their annual pageant! It was so much fun, but really hard to choose just one! I use to take part in that exact competition back in the day! Memories. Gotta love it.
... feel like a change. So I'm gonna start small by putting highlights in my hair.
... have started a Friday tradition: herbal tea and a salad at Java in Stellenbosch with my cousin. Stellenbosch is my happy place.
... want you to enter the NoMU poster competition! Head to the Engen on Orange, look out for the NoMU poster, do a funky pose next to it (be creative), take a photo and mail it to entries@nomu.co.za. And voila, Bob's your uncle. ONE person can win some serious prizes. I'm talking R40 000 in prizes. You have 11 days left to enter! Do it. Do it for the pin-up girls and guy who can't enter this awesome competition!
... have been asked to pose for Breast Cancer Awareness again, but this time I'm involving other women too to do a group photo. The message being carried across is 'women supporting each other'.
... have postponed my Johannesburg trip, but I will visit real soon. Promise.
... am back at gym in full swing, doing loads of cardio, weights, stretching, sauna- and yoga sessions! Let's hope the health binge lasts.
... find that if I browse through pictures of hot models, it motivates me to get in shape and it keeps me focussed with my eye set on the prize. Try it.
... am off to indulge in my newest tradition.

Happy Friday folks!

Playboy SA Official Playmate Launch Party! 9 May 2011 11:57 PM (14 years ago)

This passed weekend I attended the official Playmate launch party, held at Vaudeville, Fez. in Cape Town. The night saw loads of entertainment, such as aerial, fire and dance acts, and some of the best DJ's!What a cool party! Loads of hot people, and a famous face here and there, under the same roof. I met some cool people and even some of my Twitter followers, which was awesome. It wasn't long before I moved into the VIP section. Nothing spectacular up there, just a place to sit and loads of free drinks. Overall the night was a success, even though I expected way more skin! I didn't get to dance much, but I partied with my friends, which is always fun! I spotted Tracy McGregor but I have met her a few times before and have many pictures with her, so I didn't bother making a fuss about her this time. I met Playboy's May cover girl, Tshego Seakgoe, and what a stunning girl she is! She's this tiny little glamour queen and very nice!

If it wasn't for my huge group of friends I bumped into over in VIP, the night would've ended early for me. It's one of those parties where you don't know anyone and you know it's not your scene, but you know you have to be there. The hangover was totally worth it!

Let the photos speak for itself.

One section was made up with banners and a couch, then you could go pose with the bunnies. No idea who they are.

Out of all the Cape Town casting girls, I only spotted Chantal Beck. My competition is tough, but I'm wishing all the girls the best of luck.

Me with one of my best friends, Johlene.

Dressed by Cherry on Top

My cousin and I. She studies Law, so it's essential that I take her out every now and then.

I have this thing for pushing out my ass when I pose. It's gotta stop.

I still had my make-up, done by Michelle Dickman, on from the morning's photo shoot. I just added in some purple and also did a brown and bronze eye make-up for my cousin.

Two really awesome friends of mine. Too much Vodka. My eyes are a dead give away.

Two of my gal pals. Celeste (though, for some unknown reason, I call her 'Natasha' when I've had too much to drink) and Natlie (who is also a regular on my blog). Two very cool mommies.

Pictured here with Jan the Giant, a cage fighter! He's been to the Playboy Mansion 3 times, met everyone and even partied with Hugh Hefner on his birthday. I'm totally jealous.

Forget about I drunk and weird I look. This is Miss May, Tshego. She's such a 'real' girl. No hang-ups.

Renaldo and I.

That's it! Awesome night with an awesome hangover and an awesome mom to deal with it on Mother's Day.

Behind the Scenes of my Photo Shoot for Streetfighters Magazine! 9 May 2011 5:52 AM (14 years ago)

A while ago I've been approached to pose for Streetfighters Magazine, a UK based magazine about motorcycles and any information you'll ever need on the World's most extreme performance specials. So this passed weekend I took my MUA of choice, Michelle Dickman, along to the shoot. We had loads of fun and once again, she did an amazing job with my hair and make-up.

I haven't seen the final results of the photos yet, but here are some photos taken behind the scenes to give you an idea. Posing on a bike is not easy, but playing biker-girl, with leather and knee-high boots, was super fun! Obviously the focus is on the bike, which is custom-built, but there'll loads of photos of me with, next to or on top of the bike. If we have the perfect shot, and I definitely think we do, it will be on the cover of the magazine. Otherwise, the 4 to 6 page spread and pull-out poster is more than enough for me!

My outfit

Custom built by Herman Serfontein

Changing the position of the bike for the next set of photos

Michelle on the bike with me!

This was probably one of the most uncomfortable poses I have ever done!

Peeps, keep your eyes peeled for the Streetfighters Magazine on shelves in the near future! I'll get my copy from the UK before it hits SA, but I'll share it with you too. I'm sure the photographer, Naco Rautenbach, will send me the pictures soon. So, there you have it! My first magazine deal and my first international exposure.

Happy Monday folks.

It's Friday and I... 6 May 2011 6:24 AM (14 years ago)

... love these pics, tweeted by Panascape! Thank you, Robert!
... am not partying tonight! Gym, tan and prepping for a shoot!
... am shooting with Naco Rautenbach tomorrow for the Streetfighters Magazine (UK based, but available in SA too). If we get the perfect shot, it'll be on the cover.
... had 4 'fat days' in a row. It seriously sucks.
... am super amped for the Playboy SA  launch party at Vaudeville, Fez tomorrow night! Come meet the girls from the Cape Town casting, Miss April, Miss May and cover girl, Tracy McGregor.
... also heard the boys from the Stormers and Crusaders are gonna be there. Did I ever tell you about my weakness for a rugbly player?
... went to Caprice in Camps Bay on Sunday and boys from the Sharks and Blue Bulls were there. Yeah, what a night, that's all I can say! I met ALL the players and left with some numbers too.
... made it to the top 100 of the Sports Illustrated New Model Search, thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to vote. Thank you very much! Now hold thumbs for the top 15.
... need you to please squeeze in some last votes for the FHM 100 Sexiest. Vote online by clicking here and type my name, Yolandi Malherbe, in the blocks on the right hand side of the page. Then click VOTE. Just by voting, you could win a PS3 with games and one guy, with a friend, can win a trip to be at the shoot of the overall winner. How awesome is that!
... fell in love with Stellenbosch! I love the vintage shops, the vibe, the people, the art shops and all the coffee shops. I simply can't get enough.
... cannot wait to get this weekend started, then ending it off with my wonderful mother on Mother's Day.

Happy Friday! Hope I bump into you at the Playboy party, so come say hello!

The FINAL NoMU poster is up, so get your pose on! 4 May 2011 11:38 PM (14 years ago)

Over the last 12 months, NoMU had pin-up posters put up at the Engen on Orange (Cape Town), with really cool prizes up for grabs, simply by posing next to the poster and submitting the photos to either the pin-up guy/ gal or NoMU. The pin-ups have been everyone from Alex van Tonder, blogger of Cape Town Girl to the guys at 2 Oceans Vibe Radio. The final poster, coinciding with the launch of their latest product, drinking chocolate - with Martin Tucker (The Keg King), fellow model and all round angel, Alyssa Fischer and me as the pin-ups - is already up at the Engen on Orange AND the Service Station (Melville, JHB).

All you need to do is look out for this poster, pose next to it and submit your photos to this e-mail address. Easy!

How would you have your NoMU drinking chocolate? Hot or cold? Help The Keg King choose! Bring props to indicate your choice and YOU might just be the LUCKY winner of the following prizes. It's just not fair.

One person will win a Bosch coffee maker worth R18 000; a two night stay for two at the Bay Hotel (including breakfasts and spa treatments); a bottle of Vodka, 6 Redbulls and a platter for 6 from Casa Del Sol worth R1000; a bottle of Vodka, mixers, free entry to Entourage with a VIP table worth R1000; a Keg and Draught unit from The Keg King worth R1050; a case of 2007 Gentle Giant from Haute Espoir; 2 tickets to see any show from On Broadway; a R500 voucher from Kasikayaks; a year subscription to ALL Associated Magazine titles.

Convinced yet? No?

Because it doesn't end there. You can ALSO win a R1500 voucher to spend at Sunglass Hut;  a R500 voucher from Exclusive Books; a cellar tour and wine tasting for 10 people and wine hamper from Steenberg; a fat NoMU hamper and also a 6 month subscription to Playboy SA. Hey, I might just feature in the magazine!

And it gets even better! Throughout the month of May, more prizes will be added to the already long list of awesome prizes and will be handed over to just one really REALLY lucky person. Sigh.

So head over to the Engen on Orange or the Service Station, and get creative with the posing! Competition closes 1 June 2011.

Thank you to everyone for being a part of this exciting project and thank you for including me! Also a HUGE thank you to each and every sponsor!!

Good luck fellas. I'm totally jealous.

This is what I've been up to! 29 Apr 2011 4:31 AM (14 years ago)

So you probably wondered where the hell I am and why I'm so quiet on the blogging front? I've been an extremely busy girl, being very productive with my modeling career.

First up was the photo shoot with with Alyssa Buttgen (fellow model and Sports Illustrated New Model Search hopeful) and Martin Tucker (The Keg King), done by the talented photographer, Robert Miller, for the final NoMU poster campaign! The poster should be up in May at the Engen on Orange, so be sure to get your pose on! Trust me, NoMU is ending this poster campaign with a bang. To coincide with the launch of their latest product, drinking chocolate (there goes my diet), the theme chosen is: The Final Temptation of The Keg King: Hot or Cold. I think it's rather brilliant, because not only is The Keg King torn between the hot (devilish, me) or cold (angel faced, Alyssa) girls, but he can't decide whether he wants his drinking chocolate hot or cold. And trust me, either way is just simply delicious! Well done on this fabulous product, NoMU! Peeps, keep your eyes on my blog and NoMU's website for details on how to enter and what the prizes are. I WISH I could enter!

Michelle Dickman is the MUA of choice! We love her.

The lighting had to be perfect!

Death by drinking chocolate!

Look mom, no hands.

Nothing 'cold' about this angel.

My devil outfit

And so the #hotorcold Tweetfest started!

It's good to be The King!

Two days later I attended a National Cleavage Day party, held at one of my favourite party spots, Living Room, to be part of a fashion show. At first I imagined 'ramp', which is not my forte, but this was a fashion show like no other. They turned the VIP area into a mini studio and did a live photo shoot while everyone partied and watched and took photos. We were five models and each changed into four different lingerie sets. At the same time it was a launch for a new lingerie label, French Knickers. They're stuff are really so amazing and sexy! I will post more about this in the near future. Overall, the evening was a huge success and such a cool experience!
The white scene.

The red and black scene.

The 'fantasy' scene.

We started around 23h00 and finished close to 03h00! Some behind-the-scenes photos:

The Burlesque scene was first up!

Tequila for the nerves.

The two designers of French Knickers Lingerie.

After the show, we partied and celebrated National Cleavage Day!

The following evening I went to Ceres for my cousin's dress-up party! I went as a Playboy bunny. Obviously.

My cousin really needs to change the date setting on her camera.

Pixie, Playboy bunny and Pregant Pink lady. Can you guess the theme?

Whoops!

So, next on my to-do list was the casting call for Playboy SA!

Waiting in the hotel room at the Pepper Club Hotel, where the casting was held, and ready to show them what I've got! The May issue of Playboy in my hand.

Some of the photos they sent me.
For the casting, the girls had to pose in lingerie, then topless, followed by an interview while everything got video recorded. Clips of the day were published on zoopy.com later that day. Each girl had 30min for the casting. It went really great and I wasn't nervous at all. The people from Playboy were extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable! Now for the big wait!

What else have I been up to? Let's see...

I featured on Beach Watch and I'm the Bounce Girl for May. Read the interview, view the photos and download the May calendar on The Bounce, here. I also did an interview this morning with a JHB based newspaper, with regards to a certain challenge I accepted should the Boks win the rugby world cup. So, again, keep your eyes on my blog.

Then after all the hard work, I partied some more, held babies, went shopping, dumped the boyfriend, signed with an agency, ate loads of Easter eggs and did all the things girls do!

At Scarlet Lounge

One of my best friends had the most beautiful baby girl! I think this is a good look for me.

Partying with my cousin!

Dancing at Casa Blanca

And that's it for now! Enjoy the long weekend!
Take care, folks!

... signed with Triple Threat Talent in this week! An agency that covers TV, modeling, singing and dancing. Now, let the hard work begin.
... is loving everyone's statusses, tweets and profiles pictures about cleavage.
... love National Cleavage Day.
... did a shoot with Robert Miller and the wonderful team at NoMU for their final pin-up poster which should be out in May. I'll be on the poster along with Martin Tucker (Mr Keg) and Alyssa Buttgen (fellow Sports Illustrated model). This poster is going to blow your minds, trust me! New product too!
... will be walking the ramp tonight at Living Room (in lingerie) along with other models for a National Cleavage Day party! Pop in!
... am going to my cousin's 21st birthday party tomorrow. Dress-up time again!
... apologise for being so quiet on my blog lately! But I hope all my Facebook statusses and Tweets have made of for the lact of blog posts.
... am doing a shoot for UK based magazine, Streetfighter Magazine, soon. This is my first international exposure, so try and get your hands on this mag as soon as it's out. I'll get a four to six page spread with a pull-out poster and a possible cover.

Right girls, let's share the love on National Cleavage Day! 15 Apr 2011 2:46 AM (14 years ago)

This must be one of the most anticipated days in the year for men! As you all know, I celebrate National Cleavage Day every day, but today is the one day everyone gets to stare.
So, before I share the love, and suggest you do the same, just a thank you to Wonderbra for starting this day back in 2002! Everywhere I look, streets to restaurants and all over cyberspace, it's just boooobs!

Happy National Cleavage Day! Be sure to take part in the celebration and embrace your womanly curves, no matter what shape or size!

Taking it off for Breast Cancer Awareness! 4 Apr 2011 1:32 AM (14 years ago)

This is a cause that I'm very proud and honoured to be a part of - Breast Cancer Awareness. I was approached by the Breast Cancer Association (BCA) in Johannesburg to pose topless and, even though I was a bit inhibited at the idea of posing completely topless, I really wanted to support this worthy cause and help women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

How it works: the BCA organises events in the United Kingdom where all the photos from the shoots are auctioned. The photos which are sold at the auction, goes into a Breast Cancer Awareness calendar and all the money raised goes to women, here in South Africa, with breast cancer who can't afford to pay for the necessary operations to have the cancerous tissue removed (read more about the surgery here). And as you know, if the cancerous tissues aren't detected and removed early, it can spread to other parts of the body. The photos aren't just about topless girls, but about capturing the true beauty of being a women, the beauty of having healthy breasts and about being comfortable in your own skin.

I couldn't fly up to Johannesburg for the shoot, but arranged one in Cape Town with the help of photographer Naco Rautenbach and make-up artist Michelle Dickman. Usually the shoots are done in a studio and the girls wear only jeans, but I wanted to add my own touch to it. I wanted to have it done in a forest and decided on the beautiful Helderberg Nature Reserve, and they were more than willing to assist. I also didn't want to pose in jeans, but went with a pink sarong instead. In some photos I'm completely nude, but we used objects in nature to make it as tasteful as possible, like standing against a tree or covering the bits with leaves and twigs. Even though you don't see me completely nude, in reality, I was walking around in a forest in my birthday suit. What's it like to pose nude or topless? It's very daunting, yet very liberating at the same time. I was shy, but after 10min I felt completely comfortable and at one with nature. After about 2 hours of shooting, we got about 20 really great photos, of which four will be auctioned. The photos came out very very nice and Naco exceeded my expectation yet again. He captured exactly what the BCA had envisioned and they are also very pleased with the outcome. I decided on a very natural make-up and Michelle did a wonderful job creating the look, which the BCA also totally loved.

Here are some behind the scenes.

07h00 and freezing outside.

Getting ready to shoot. I took Johlene with to assist with lighting and for moral support.

We chose a very isolated spot. It was very peaceful in the forest. Beautiful.

I had to keep my shoes on because you never know what you might step in. Shoes aren't in the professional shots.

As you can see, covered with twigs, though, it can easily be mistaken for something else...

And the final product! I can only share these with you as the rest are exclusive to the BCA.

A big thank you to the BCA for making me a part of your project; Naco Rautenbach for the photography (he is definitely my new favourite photographer); Michelle for doing my make-up (I love your work); Johlene for assisting me at the shoot and the Helderberg Nature Reserve for being so helpful.

Master Class Cooking Experience with Neill Anthony at Kia Ora! 31 Mar 2011 1:07 AM (14 years ago)

It's amazing that I interact with all these wonderful people on Twitter, but even more so when I actually get to meet them in person and do projects together. Like Robert Miller who I met last year and ended up doing a lingerie photo shoot with. And Michelle Dickman who I started following randomly and now she's done my hair and make-up on two photo shoots. Then earlier this year I came across chef-to-the-stars, Neill Anthony with whom I recently had a very cool cooking lesson. Twitter is really amazing and if you're not on it, you better make a plan!

I just thought I must share my master class cooking lesson with you I had with Neill. When I found out he's a chef, I knew this was only going to end well. When we finally agreed to put in some effort to make everything happen, I decided to make the most of it. The idea was a cooking lesson with a few friends, initially, but then we wanted Neill to work his magic in a really stunning kitchen. Mine just doesn't cut it. Then SA model and business woman, Tanya Fourie, was kind enough to let us use her absolutely gorgeous villa, Kia Ora (which means 'be well/ healthy) for the evening. Breathtaking, eh?

Then we invited some cool guests over, but it was hard deciding who, because we could only be eight to keep it intimate and prevent a huge party from happening. Neill and I were joined by one of my best friends, and fellow-blogger, Johlene; radio presenter, Evox Cape Town and South African Blog Awards owner and sports enthusiast, JP Naude; brand activation manager at Kfm, Denver Apollus (he's becoming quite a regular on my blog); Kfm presenter, Theo Esau; 7de Laan actress, Sulette Winterbach and her boyfriend, Jaco van Wyk, who does the marketing and communications of the Boland Rugby website.

Neill starts with all the preparations before the guests arrive.

Once everyone arrived, we started off with champagne, sponsored by Villiera Wines, while waiting in anticipation for Neill to start with our lesson. I must admit, the only thing I really paid attention to, was how to make basil pesto from scratch. I stepped out of the kitchen for a short while to have champagne and mingle, and when I got back, everything was ready. Sorry Neill, but at least I grated some cheese.

Starters: homemade linguini, basil pesto, shaved parmesan and herbed ricotta. This was my favourite dish! The ricotta just complimented the basil pesto and when I added some chili oil, it just tied everything together so deliciously. I loved this dish so much, that I attempted it the next night again. Ok, so I didn't make everything from scratch, but I felt creative and added baby-marrows and chicken fillets to mine. From starters to mains in no time!

Neill, me and Sulette, hard at work.

And I am still grating cheese!

Keeping the guests entertained!

Yes, Theo, that is the cheese I finally managed to finish grating!

Neill, how come you gave me all the crap jobs? Huh?

Neill brought Hello Kitty plasters. He's forgiven.

Homemade linguini!

Sulette helped make the basil pesto and couldn't wait to try it!

Neill and Johlene

Neill dishing up. Oh now I'm hungry all over again!

Mains: smoked chili braised leg of Karoo lamb, spiced white bean cassoulet, salted cucumber salad with cumin camoulla. The bean cassoulet and lamb topped with the cucumber salad worked so well together! The meat was so soft and absolutely great-tasting. Aah, I have to stop talking now.

Checking up on Neill as he dishes the bean cassoulet. Biggest beans I have ever seen!

The bean cassoulet. Mmm!

The Karoo lamb placed on top of the cassoulet.

Topped with salted cucumber. It doesn't taste salty. More pickled. And it's amazing how these three completely different flavours just perfectly compliment each other. Well done Neill.

After dinner I chilled with JP. Awesome guy and (almost) talks as much as I do.

Dessert: Caramelised peaches, coconut dust, crème freshe, hazelnut espuma.
Denver watches as dessert's being prepped...

... while the girls explore and appreciate this, beautiful, all white, villa! Kia Ora will definitely be my villa of choice for my next romantic getaway or girls weekend. Ooh, that's an idea!

Before we knew it, the evening was over. Not only have we had the most wonderful eating experience, but we made new friends, spent time in Kia Ora, had loads of wine and champagne, but we also left with a few cooking tips and completely stuffed.

Neill Anthony - Thank you so much for the wonderful evening and for spoiling us with your talents and cooking skills! It was the best food I have tasted in a long time. I especially loved that you paid attention when I said how much I love basil pesto and chili, and worked it into the menu. Thanks for the lesson and for answering all our weird questions.

Now, people, if you don't know this about Neill, he has worked with Gordon Ramsey and has cooked for big names, such as U2, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, The Beckhams, Elton John and Paul McCartney.

Tanya Fourie - A special thanks to you for allowing us to use your magnificent villa, Kia Ora. It truly is beautiful and all the guests loved it!

Thank you Villiera for the champagne! It went down really well with the cuisine!
Then another big thank you to Johlene who helped with all the arrangements! You have been a big help. Thanks to JP, Sulette, Jaco, Theo and Denver for the wonderful evening. Again soon!

K-Day 2011 presented by Santam and Kfm! 28 Mar 2011 7:05 AM (14 years ago)

Yes yes, rather late than never, so here it finally is! The spectacular music fest that is K-Day, held at Val de Vie in Paarl. If you weren't there, you missed out on a serious event! Great artists, beautiful venue, spectacular performances, fabulous celebs and the best party I've been to in a while! K-Day, you will definitely see me again next year!

Hundreds and hundreds of people arrive for the much anticipated event! It was blazing hot that day, so some came prepared with umbrellas, cooler boxes and some even in swimwear!

Pretty useless for the first hour after arrival! 44 degrees is no joke!

Luckily we were just a few steps away from the beer tent!

After an ice cold drink, I suddenly had some life in me again and decided it was time to go roll with the cool kids in VIP. Here I'm pictured backstage and loving the vibe!

Pictured here with my blonde beauties, Ashlea and Natlie.

I only have blonde babes in my entourage, it seems. Pictured here with the awesome musician and SA's finest export, Arno Carstens.

Backstage was the place to be!

Ash, me, Esme and Natlie pictured here with musician Lloyd Cele.

Goldfish baby! Ah, we're such groupies!

Terence Mentor from Kfm. Awesome 'fro!

Pictured here with Tamara Dey from Flash Republic. Wow, she is just so unbelievably nice!

There were hundreds and hundreds of people! This is the view from The Polo Club

Kfm, you did good!!

Sometimes the simplest of sweet treats are the best dessert! Marshmallows, nougat, brownies, jelly beans, sour worms... it brought back some memories. Very creative idea!

VIP section was in The Polo Club.

Spotted Tammy-Anne Fortuin in VIP too. She's a model and Roer presenter.

Pictured with the girls from La Vuvuzela. Very nice girls and very talented!

Backstage again!!

Elana Afrika, radio and television presenter, is proof that dynamite comes in small packages. She is very sweet and extremely bubbly!

Hangin' with radio personalities, Mark Pilgrim and Ryan O'Connor. Great guys! I think Ryan is kinda hot! And the fact he's uber nice and liked my 'hot pants', scored him some serious points.

We also got to meet radio and television prankster, Darren "Whackhead" Simpson.

On stage with Ross Learmonth, lead singer of Prime Circle, seconds before he has to give a show. And boy, what a performance it was!! I'm in love with the band all over again! Ross is amazing and so down to earth.

Grabbed Prime Circle drummer, Dale Schnettler, before their live perfomance too.
The Kfm cabs chauffeured VIP guests to and from The Polo Club and backstage. Not a detail left out.

I also met Xolani from Freshly Ground. Loving her new hairstyle!

I wonder which artist arrived in the limo...

Gold Fish's trailer

Backstage!

Flash Republic on stage! They were absolutely mind-blowing and the energy was amazing!

Back at The Polo Club we bumped into SA's R&B artist, Loyiso Bala. Very chilled dude!

Freshly Ground was absolutely amazing!! When they sang Waka Waka the crowd went insane! Definitely one of the best performances at K-Day. Hands down!

Pictured here with the man of the moment, Kfm presenter, Denver Apollus. He ran around all day to help make the event the success it was. Well done, D!

Whackhead and Ryan taking a breather. Everyone worked really hard!

The view from the stage.

The Kfm team on stage. Ryan was very popular!

Prime Circle was definitely the highlight of the evening! They gave an out-of-this-world performance unlike anything I've ever experienced!! I love these guys and it was so cool to mingle with them after the show. Really down to earth.

That's it!! My wonderful K-Day experience will not be topped soon. As you can see, I was all over the place, up and down between The Polo Club and the stage and met so many wonderful people. Thank you to Santam and the entire KFM team for pulling off such a well-organised event! It was such a big treat and I cannot wait to attend it next year!

Behind the Scenes of my latest Portfolio Photo Shoot! 7 Mar 2011 5:45 AM (14 years ago)

I've been meaning to do a very sexy photo shoot for my portfolio filled with variety. So when a photographer approached me, I knew this is my chance to tick it off my to-do list. I finally had the opportunity to put together a shoot and do it my way - wardrobe, set design, poses, make-up and so on.
After weeks of planning and preparation, I, with loads of help from my two best friends, pulled it off!

Saturday morning we left the house at 04h00 to meet up with the photographer, make-up artist and male models at 15 on Orange. First scene was shot in the lift with two really hot male models by my side. Let's just say that I didn't need coffee that morning. The concept behind this scene was just to get really sexy, intimate images. Almost like a peak of what happens when the lift doors close. I decided on denim for this scene with a smokey eye make-up, and it worked so well with the gold couch in the lift. Male models were topless, of course.

Next up, was lingerie. Four different outfits - leopard print, colourful, pin-up inspired and burlesque. We kept on the smokey eye make-up for two of the lingerie sets, after that we switched to a very colourful make-up. I wanted this scene to be very playful and bright.
Doing a quick twitpic.

My two besties styling me while Michelle touches up my make-up. I love this photo.

How stunning is my make-up? Michelle is very talented!

Next stop, beach scene. The concept here was to get bikini and topless photos, but everything gold and bronzed up! I wanted loads of sand, see and rocks. Big, wild hair and make-up in shimmering gold.

After the beach scene, we drove all the way back to Cape Town, Roeland Street, for the final scene of the day - the pool scene. I wanted this to be very natural. Hair wet and sleeked back and very natural make-up. For wardrobe I decided to go all white, which really complimented the blue water. After a long day in the sun and sand, this pool was so welcoming!

And that's it! I received some of the images from the photographers so long and let me tell you, the months of planning that went into this shoot, and the actual 12 hour long shoot, was all worth it!

But of course, none of this would even be possible if it wasn't for the help of my two best friends, Johlene and Esme. Johlene helped with booking the locations, sourcing a photographer and male models. They both assisted me at the shoot and helped with setting up each scene. Esme helped me get dressed, took behind the scenes photos and also assisted the photographer. They helped plan each detail with me! Girls, I can't thank you enough for your help, ideas, assistance, creativeness and patience!

Then to the two photographers, I am so grateful to have been privileged to work with you. I am more than pleased with the results! Thank you Brown Eye Photography for shooting all the indoor scenes (lift and lingerie). And another big thank you to Naco Rautenbach from Naco Rautenbach Design Photography (please 'like' his Facebook page) for shooting all the outdoor scenes. I am blown away by your work!

A huge thank you to Michelle Dickman - you might know her better as Mish to the D from Twitter - for my wonderful hair and make-up! Mish, you really understood exactly what I wanted for each scene and did a much better job then I could've ever imagined! You are truly talented and a pleasure to work with. Be sure to expect another phone call from me in the near future!

Thank you to Matilda's Lingerie for sponsoring my Burlesque-inspired set. I love it and I'm sure my future-boyfriend would too. Another big thank you to ZA Surveys for sponsoring the bikini and all the accessories for the beach scene! They are a new established specialist research company focussed on the understanding social media and the web in South Africa.

Last, but definitely not the least, thank you to the two male models, Thinus and Renaldo, for getting up so early and taking time out of your day to come pose with me! I've seen the pictures and it looks hot! I wouldn't have been able to pull it off without you! Those abs and arms were a great start to my day!

Now that I finally have this behind me, I can't wait to put the portfolio together and start sending the pictures out! Next stop, Playboy SA.

Oh wait, I am forgetting something, aren't I? Here is a sneak-peek of what's in store for my fabulous portfolio! I also included topless scenes in my portfolio. A total first for me!

What do you think?

It's Friday and I... 4 Mar 2011 2:36 AM (14 years ago)

... I love spending time with my girlfriends! They are my therapy.
... am doing the usual mani and pedi night with the girls, but no partying!
... have to get up at 03h00 tomorrow morning! A total first for me, as that's the time I usually get home.
... am nervous and excited about tomorrow's photo shoot! The big shoot for my brand new portfolio is finally here!
... am so grateful to all those who came on board to help out with this project!
... think this will be the best lingerie shoot I've ever done, but the other scenes are going to be hot too.
... won't deny that the two male models I'm posing with tomorrow, is an exciting thing on its own to look forward to! It's going to be a fight over who gets to oil them.
... am really excited to see how Michelle transforms me with her make-up skills!
... have discovered all models' beauty secret on how to get thin quick for a shoot. Oh how they fool us with their dieting and exercise nonsense!
... have four scenes planned for the shoot. Different hair, make-up, wardrobe and locations for each scene. Hard work awaits us!
... am also shooting a short video tomorrow, as part of my portfolio too, but you'll have to wait and see what tricks we have up our sleeve!
... know a nice party afterward the shoot, to reward ourselves for the day's hard work, is in order.
... think y'all should just visit my blog on Monday and take a look at the behind the scenes madness.

Happy Friday and take it easy!

Behind the Scenes of Taxi Violence's new Music Video! 23 Feb 2011 4:24 AM (14 years ago)

Recently I had the privilege to appear in yet another music video! The video for 'Heads or Tails' by SA rock band, Taxi Violence, were shot on different locations in Observatory over a period of two days. The concept behind the video is very creative, almost like a short story! In a nutshell, it's about a man who wakes up and something terrible happens in his day, then he gets the chance to relive that day over and over. Every morning he gets up a few seconds earlier, which results in the day playing out, and ending, differently each time. Yes, this has been done before in movies, but squeezing an entire story line into a 5min music video, is a challenge. So, just like the title of the song suggests, the day could turn out good or bad. It's heads or tails.

I have a small part in 'day one and two'. In the first scene, 'day one', the guy, who plays the lead, walks pass me on the street. We smile at each other and turn around to quickly flirt. Another guy on a bike, the stuntman, rides passed us, looks at my legs and drives into a lamp pole and falls off his bike. I don't see this, because my eye contact is elsewhere. My character is not that different from me, see? In the next scene, 'day two', we walk down the street again, pass each other and briefly make eye contact, but this time the lead isn't wearing his watch. So he stops the guy on the bike to ask for the time. I walked passed them and because of that, the guy doesn't drive into the pole because he is no longer distracted. The lead also doesn't get to flirt, because by the time he looks up, I'm already around the corner.

Even though this will probably show for 15 seconds in the music video, it was a 2 hour job. I probably walked up and down that street 120 times on heels! The poor actor who plays the lead role had to smoke almost an entire packet of cigarettes for his roll and the stunt man, well, I'm sure he experienced some degree of pain.

My scenes were shot early in the day and after that, I left. So unfortunately no photos of the other scenes or of the band, Taxi Violence. But here are some behind the scenes pictures for you:

I arrived at 07h30. Before I sat for hair and make-up, I quickly took some pics of the very first scene.

Getting prepped for my scene.

Talking to the director, Ryan Kruger, about the video and concept.

Finally, we start filming. Action! Up and down we go.

Camera positions change to capture different angles.

There was even a part where I had to act as if I'm flirting with the other actor BUT he wasn't there! So it's kinda challenging flirting with a wall and then pretending to be all in to it. It's some camera trick which will make sense once I see the end result. Overall it was yet another great experience and even my first attempt at acting. I felt a bit intimidated and pressured, yet, so comfortable and at home. This is what I should be doing for a living!

Ryan Kruger, who also directed the Parlotones music video I was in, is an award winning director and I can't wait to see him work his magic!

Fabulous Find: For the Lingerie Lovers! 22 Feb 2011 3:13 AM (14 years ago)

Just when I thought I haven't made any new or fabulous discoveries, I find an online sex toys and lingerie shop which I have to share with you! You might have heard of them before or even seen their exhibitions at SEXPO. It's none other than Matilda's.

Whether you have a lingerie fetish or would like to spice up your sex life, there is something for everyone. So go online shopping here and they'll send it to you via a courier service, very discretely of course. These are some of my favourite items:

Matilda's: "We simply love this sultry black satin corset top. You can go from dinner to the bedroom in this stylish satin and spandex lingerie. The sexy zipper front adds a naughty detail to this classic corset". If you love it too, buy it here.

Matilda's: "Saloon Siren! This devine aqua blue lingerie set is detailed with swiss dot mesh overlay and a stunning corset style lace-up garter belt". They sent this exact sert to me. Like it too? Buy it.

Matilda's: "This neon pink garter dress is perfect for a romantic night in. The classic garter dress is spiced up with a playful polka dot design and a seriously sexy ruffle rhumba back style". Surprise your man and buy it now!

Matilda's: "We simply can't get enough of this super HOT corset. From the lace-up side detailing to the sheer mesh fabric and matching g-string, this is lingerie that begs to be peeled off... slowly". Convinced? Add to cart, then!

Matilda's: "The Irina Corset features a fishnet overlay and devine lace-up ribbon front. The sexy criss-cross back and garter straps makes this one playful, yet provocative, lingerie set". I am so in love with this set! Buy it here.

Matilda's: "We can't think of a more sassy lingerie set than Miss Frisky Kitty. This retro style bra comes with a gorgeously detailed pair of panties". By far the sexiest set of 'em all! Buy it and bring out the animal in you!

Matilda's: "This seductive lace garter set features a satin padded bra top with a gorgeous lace ruffle trim. The highly erotic garter belt has a daring lace-up front and oh-so-sexy ruffle back detail". Very feminine with a vintage touch. I love it, so let's buy it.

Matilda's: "The flirty pink lace-up detail and matching garter belt accentuate the female form perfectly. We love the sexy fringe detail on the garter belt along with the matching g-string. We would highly recommend this lingerie set for a night where you want show your lover how much of a goddess you truly are". And I recommend you get your hands on this burlesque-inspired set now!

While doing your online shopping, be sure to browse through all the bedroom gadgets or get some sexy underwear for your man. Who says Valentines Day only has to come once a year?

I Wish I Could be at the Beach Everyday! 17 Feb 2011 12:23 AM (14 years ago)

I love going to the beach, be it Strand, Gordon's Bay, Blaauwberg, Hermanus or Clifton. I love spending the day in the sun, relaxing on the soft sand while listening to waves break, drinking cocktails and sight seeing. The other day we decided that a day like this, was needed. Overdue.

First stop, drinks and a light meal at Casa de Sol in Strand

Sight seeing...

...and a Sunday drive, are two of my favourite methods of relaxing.

Loads of cocktails and shooters were sent our way.

On the way home we turned the music up loud in the car and opened the windows to get some wind in our hair.

This was a fun day and I'm going to try and do this at least once a week! I strongly recommend. So look out for a group of loud girls at a beach near you...
