Video: A bicycle locked to a parking sign in downtown Northfield gets forcibly removed 12 May 2015 7:56 AM (10 years ago)

See the discussion thread attached to this Facebook post (viewable by anyone).

Upate, Noon: I contacted Northfield City Hall and got a prompt reply from City Administrator Nick Haggenmiller who wrote:

“I’m told our CSO [Community Service Officer] responded to a complaint noting the bike had been located there all winter. About a week ago, he put a sign on requesting the bike to be moved within 48 hours. Today as you well documented the bike was removed and is being held at the police station if/when its owner steps forward to claim it.”

Update 4pm: MPR’s NewsCut blog featured the video.

The 2016 Woodley St. Reconstruction Project needs your input: online survey deadline is May 13 8 May 2015 5:49 AM (10 years ago)

The 2016 Woodley St. Reconstruction Project blog site has launched. Yes, I’m a contractor to the City of Northfield for the online citizen engagement component so no opinions from me will be forthcoming.

But online citizen engagement  has long been part of the mission of LoGro so I’ve got no qualms about urging y’all to participate. For more related article about construction and contructors just checkout road construction aberdeen sd for more information.

There have been two community/neighborhood meetings thus far, with more scheduled in the next few weeks. I’ve posted meeting photos with the Powerpoint presentations on the blog.

The City’s Public Works Department has created the Woodley St. project questionnaire that’s open now through May 13. They’re seeking comments from all Northfield residents, in particular regarding:

Consider it!

Rotary’s cogwheel logo has nothing to do with bicycling. However… 14 Apr 2015 6:06 PM (10 years ago)

Rotary International and the Northfield Rotary Club‘s logo is a cogwheel (some background info here.) Northfield area bikers like me see more in it than that, especially when I ride across the Peggy Prowe Pedestrian Bridge to the Sechler Park Mountain Bike Trail, opened recently by CROCT (Cannon River Offroad Cycling & Trails) where I’m a board member. Thank you, Northfield Rotary, for all you do for bicycling in the area.

Scenes from Division St: pesky women 12 Apr 2015 5:48 AM (10 years ago)

These women were blocking my view of downtown Northfield from my corner window office at Tandem Bagels last week. And one of them was a paparazzi and a few were just complaining about how kids were knocking down dekkreoler stands out on the street. Among them: Mary Wood, Linelle Olson, and Jane McWilliams.
