Use a Graphic Designer for your Infographics. 9 Dec 2013 8:00 PM (11 years ago)

If you have ever seen the way an Infographic can get your attention, you will realise what a great marketing & SEO tool this can be. Especially true, if it’s application is web based. Having the right infographic convey your message can be the difference between getting the right message across or having it fall flat.

The best way to avoid this from happening is to use a graphic design agency that know how to conceive and then illustrate these infographics in a way that will be positively received. Also select a local wordpress developer in Australia to code it for you

Choosing the right graphic design studio is often quite difficult in this saturated market but if you find that ‘gem’ then you are on a winner.  Choosing a dud will just result in a poorly executed image that will have little effect on your target audience.
Clients and customers want to be wowed by design and they also want to get the intention of your message in under 3 seconds. This is not an easy task, but at Hopping Mad Designs we have the right mix of design brains and business savvy to bring your infographic to life. We don’t just take the brief, but challenge you and look at ways of making this graphic as eye catching as possible.

To help you get the right designer I have listed a few very key elements that you should be aware of before they get started on your Infographic.

Probably the best thing that I can think of is to see a selection of past work they have done with Infographics.  Basically they should have selection of work perhaps they have done on other websites, blogs or articles. If you like what you see, then go for it.

Getting a message across via this type of illustration takes a fair bit of planning. You really need to know a lot about the message, intended market and desired outcome if it will work. Most graphic designers have worked with a range of businesses and will therefore be able to pick up a design brief and work with it. Because infographics can be quite detailed it’s a good idea to go with a designer that get’s your business BUT if it is the first time you are working with them, they should be keen to explore ideas and options with you. Attitude and a willingness to work with you, will play a huge role in this.

The price of infographics has come down in the last couple of years, but be prepared to pay a fair price for the work involved. If this is going to be used extensively and will play a role in your marketing, don’t be afraid to pay that bit more, to get the best desired results.

Who Should Do Your SEO 29 Oct 2012 7:49 PM (12 years ago)

USING A CREDIBLE WEB DESIGN COMPANY FOR YOUR SEO.

There are many advantages of using your website design company like SearchRight for your  businesses search engine optimisation. Following a just a few points that should highlight these and if you do keep these in mind it will help you out in getting your website ranked once deployed.
  1. If you use the same website design studio to do your SEO, then everything is handled by one company under one roof, so to speak. If there are too many fingers in the pie, mistakes can happen and wires can get crossed. Having one form handle your digital online strategy will make things a lot easier for you. Think about it, your web designer gets to know you, your business and your target market and can therefore target an online SEO solution to cater for this. There is no duplication of services which saves you time and money.
  2. There is the trust factor to consider. You develop a great relationship with your web designer and you want to carry this forward with your search engine strategy. Most ( and you should be careful about this) reliable and credible web studios, will be able to offer this added service. Ask them about this and see if they are able to bundle up a web and SEO package at the commencement of the project. Its a pity to end a web relationship and start up a SEO relationship for the same site. Once trust has been developed this should be nurtured and utilised for all your online marketing.
  3. Nowadays, there are so many strings to getting to page one of google that you do need to have an expert working on this. It is not just back links that help you get to page 1. There are so many on page factors to be considered ( what people actually see on the website) that getting your web design team to facilitate this is going to work well for you. After all, they have done the design, so they should be understand what design is needed be SEO compliant. Most solid web companies, should know that the combination of graphics, user interface website copywriting and programming is needed to come together nicely in one piece, if your site will have any chance of ranking.
  4.  SEO is a new industry and not very well under stood. The entry criteria is very low and just about any one with a slight knowledge of the internet can claim to be search engine gurus. They advertise the hell out of themselves and claim to be the best in the industry. Often they make unrealistic and untrue claims about immediate rankings, which is a totally wrong. Aligning oneself with a SEO company that has no proven track record, with the decision purely based on cost, will end up only in tears later on when there has been no online gain and you have forked out marketing dollars. This is why you should be using your web page design company, who you have met and who has worked with you to get a website. One very critical point is to ask them to show you what they will be implementing and perhaps a few case studies of clients they have been able to rank in the past. This industry is rife with bad elements, giving the whole industry a very bad name. This is why you should know the difference between certain SEO companies. If you go with a Sydney based web company that is known in the arena for quality work, then they should be able to follow this through with a great online marketing campaign for your URL.
These are just a few points to be wary of. Basically, I could go on here forever and talk about quality web design companies versus dodgy SEO teams. But, on the whole you should use your gut instinct and go with the person of team you feel comfortable with.

Google+ (Plus) Overview 31 Jul 2011 5:04 PM (14 years ago)

Google Plus

Heard of Google Plus? If you’re still a bit puzzled about it, then read on. Google Plus is the newest Social Networking Site that has been launched by Google and they introduced it not as product but a project.  Its platform is similar to Facebook, however, it doesn’t intend to replace Facebook’s fame as it is only created as a means to ease the communication to circle of friends and close relatives. Facebook is indeed unbeatable and it cannot be put into question, however, Google Plus offers a much more exciting features and tweaks that can benefit the webmasters and those who have online businesses.

Google Plus can be seen as a hybrid of LinkedIn as well as Facebook. It balances both professionalism and privacy, which can be very helpful for people wanting to connect to several buddies, but are very particular on controlling confidential information and activities. This is a perfect networking site for high profile users but can be very complicated to use for average users, especially those who are used to Facebook and Twitter.

Google Plus Features

Webmasters and SEOs can take much advantage from Google Plus, as it effectively brings up one’s website in a faster rate. But keep in mind that it also has drawbacks when it comes to aiming the Top SERP (Search Engine Page rank) on a consistent basis. When joining Google Plus, one can share more about their website and gain traffic, be included in the top stream, and get more and more people visit your website. It effectively raises the Page rank; however, it doesn’t stay there for long. Many web owners will manipulate this platform and pay for bunch of clickers to give thumbs up for their website in Google Plus.  Overall, it’s a great SEO technique though, despite its slight drawback, it is considered to be the best SEO technique one can use, especially that today people are into social networking sites.

What can SEO bring to your business 24 Jun 2011 5:19 PM (14 years ago)

If you’ve spent any time in the online corporate world, “SEO” is a term that often comes up in conversation. Webmasters, marketing teams and hosting providers routinely stress the importance of incorporating a good SEO plan into your website, but few novice website owners actually understand that importance – or even what it all means. So what is SEO and why is it so important for your website?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a technique that involve strategically placed words and key phrases that most succinctly describe your website, within your website. Search engines use programs called crawlers that creep your site and index all the pages and information, based on those keywords and their relevancy. When people perform searches based on those keywords and phrases, the sites that have the highest index rating (best SEO strategy) are returned within the first few crucial results. Internet users want information fast, without having to click an endless array of links to get it. So having your site ranked on the first page of search results is imperative for good traffic…

The search engines use special algorithms to index the pages accordingly. From time to time these algorithms are changed by the search engines, which means your SEO tactics must change as well, to keep up with the competition. You need to have an experienced SEO person in charge of your website’s SEO campaign to keep up with those changes. Simply building a website and hoping for traffic is not enough and will never be effective in drawing traffic. Including a comprehensive SEO campaign in your business’ marketing budget is not only a good investment, it’s a critical one.

The benefits of SEO for your website are numerous. A few of the more attractive ones include:

  1. High ROI (Return on Investment) – A solid SEO campaign can bring the highest return on your initial investment than any other online marketing tactic.
  2. Residual Benefits – Unlike paid advertising where your “face time” runs out when your money does, search engine placement lasts in the long term, thereby stretching your marketing dollar even further –  and it doesn’t cost you any more than the initial investment.
  3. Increased Visibility and Brand Awareness – The higher your site ranks in the search engines, the more people will visit it. Higher placements ensures high exposure for your site, due to the arrival of new and diverse traffic.
  4. Increased Sales – Obviously, with more traffic coming in, the greater the chance you have of converting those visitors to paying customers.

What makes a comprehensive SEO campaign the most cost effective method of online marketing is that you’re paying your SEO expert to tailor a plan that’s, essentially, going to run and finance itself. Unlike Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which combines SEO with Pay Per Click (PPC) programs that have to be paid out on a regular and continuous basis in order to work, an effective SEO campaign continues to do what your paid your SEO team for it to do long after your initial investment was made. There are no surprises, no hidden costs or fees. Once in place, the SEO campaign only has to be tweaked when the search engine algorithms are. What’s more, some type of monitoring service is included in most SEO campaigns that will gauge your website’s placement over time and tweak it accordingly, which ensures you get the most for every marketing dollar you spend.

If you’ve noticed a sudden drop in traffic to your site or are simply wondering how to get more, an effective SEO campaign is the first (and perhaps, the most important) you should take on your marketing journey. Let the experts at SearchRight show you what one of our customized SEO packages can do for your website.

Google Wave waves goodbye 6 Aug 2010 11:21 PM (15 years ago)

Google have decided to pull the plug on Google Wave this week sighting the lack of user participation. Google wave is supposed to be the technology that will eventually replace email but due to its complexity and fully loaded features, it somehow turned people off. Most user opted to the simpler Gmail and its other features. I personally only used it twice after getting an invitation last November, it just doesn’t interest me at all, my time is better spent somewhere else, that’s just my own opinion. What do you think of it?

Have you used Google wave? Do you think Google pull the plug too early and never given it more chance ?
