Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College, Mahabubnagar, organized a Students’ Induction Program for the newly admitted UG First-Year students on July 7, 2025, at the Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Auditorium. The program was designed to warmly welcome the freshers and introduce them to the college’s vision, academic structure, and student support systems.
The event was graced by Dr. K. Praveena, Controller of Examinations, Palamuru University, who served as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, she emphasized the significance of academic discipline, continuous learning, and value-based education in shaping successful careers and responsible citizens.
The program was presided over by the distinguished management and academic leaders of the college:

As part of the program, the management also took pride in honoring students who secured gold medals in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. This celebration served as an inspiration for the newly joined students to strive for excellence.

Swami Vivekananda Degree and P.G. College, Mahabubnagar, successfully organized a Campus Placement Drive in collaboration with Hetero Biopharma, one of India’s leading pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies, on 26th April 2025.
The drive witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 420 students from various disciplines, reflecting the strong academic foundation and industry readiness of our student community. After a rigorous selection process that included pre-placement talks, written assessments, and personal interviews, 74 students were selected for various positions at Hetero Biopharma.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the selected students and express our gratitude to the recruitment team from Hetero Biopharma for recognizing the potential of our students. This placement drive stands as a testament to the continuous efforts of our Placement Cell, faculty, and management in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
We look forward to hosting more such successful placement drives in the future and wish our students great success in their professional journeys.

Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College is proud to announce the successful organization of the Mega Placement Drive held on 16th April 2025, a significant initiative in our commitment to empowering students with promising career opportunities.
The placement drive brought together a diverse lineup of reputed companies from various sectors, offering job opportunities that align with the skills and aspirations of our graduating students. The companies that participated in this drive included:
Genpact, FOXCONN, Camel Q, Kapston, Muthoot Finance, ShriRam Group, ServCrust, Quess, 2050 HealthCare, MedPlus+, HDFC Bank, SBI (State Bank of India), and TGS Company.

Bathukamma Festival Celebrations 1 Oct 2024 4:45 AM (last year)
Bathukamma is a vibrant festival celebrated predominantly in Telangana, marking the end of the monsoon season. It is dedicated to the worship of the goddess Gauri, symbolizing the female spirit of nature. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm, and this year, our college organized a special event to honour and promote this cultural tradition.
The venue was adorned with colorful flowers, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Students showcased their creativity by arranging Bathukamma stacks made of seasonal flowers, reflecting the festival’s spirit.
The highlight of the event was the communal celebration of Bathukamma. Students and faculty members gathered to participate in the traditional ritual, singing songs and dancing around the Bathukamma. This created a sense of unity and joy among everyone present.
After the traditional Bathukamma celebrations, the excitement continued with a lively Dandiya in the morning. The festive energy reached new heights as students and faculty gathered once again, this time dressed in vibrant Dandiya outfits, to participate in the traditional Gujarati folk dance. The rhythmic beats of the music and the sound of clashing dandiya sticks filled the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and celebration.
Conclusion
The Bathukamma Festival celebration at SWAMI VIVEKANANDA DEGREE & PG COLLEGE, MAHABUBNAGAR was a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and local community members to celebrate the essence of Telangana’s culture. The event not only promoted awareness of the festival but also fostered a sense of community and cultural pride. The organizing committee received positive feedback, and there are plans to make this an annual event.

An Induction Programme for the students of UG 1st year was held on 18 th July 2024 at 10:30 AM, in the Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Auditorium ,Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College, Mahabubnagar.
The objective of the program was make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the college and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.
The welcome note was delivered by Ms. Rajeshwari , Vice-Principal of Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College,Mahabubnagar.
Principal K. Kumara Swamy addressed the students and parents, elaborating on the opportunities facilitated by the college for the students , excellence of the faculty , rules and regulations to be followed by the students , college timing and the significance of learning effective communication in English. In this talk, he focused mainly on the achievements of Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College, Mahabubnagar.
Dr. K. Raj Kumar, Controller of Examinations , Palamuru University, was the chief guest on the occasion. He shared the concerns of the parents who send their children to a college campus , in the hope that they would emerge successful by the end of the course. He reassured the parents that they have made the right choice by selecting Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College.
Dr. Syed Ibrahim Khaleel , Director of Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College, Mahabubnagar, spoke on college facilities. He added that the students should make best use of the avenues provided by the college .
Dr. Heeroji Rao Bhonsle , Dean of Swami Vivekananda Degree & PG College, Mahabubnagar, congratulated the students and welcomed them to the institute. He motivated the students by saying that students are the foundation of any educational institute. He also gave an example of his own experience and said parents should track the status of students .
At the end of the event Ms. Rajeshwari delivered a Vote of thanks.
A general body meeting of the parents and faculty followed the Induction Program.
