Veterans’ Outreach was honored to participate in Laura’s 20th Annual Summit County Veterans Stand Down and Veterans Appreciation Day at Guy’s Party Center in Akron, Ohio.

This incredible event brought together more than 70 organizations and agencies, all dedicated to serving and supporting our nation’s heroes. Veterans received access to vital resources, including dental and health screenings, legal aid, housing support, employment opportunities, clothing, food, hygiene items, and so much more.
Our Veterans’ Outreach team was proud to provide groceries, personal care products, and fellowship to those who came through. It was inspiring to witness the community come together in such a powerful way to ensure that veterans know they are seen, appreciated, and supported.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Laura and her team for organizing such a meaningful event, and to all the volunteers and organizations who made this possible. Most importantly, we thank the veterans who joined us, it was our privilege to serve you.

Veterans’ Outreach would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lasko, a global leader in home comfort, for their generous donation of 80 brand-new fans to be distributed to local veterans.
Over the past few days, our team has been giving these fans directly to veterans in need. For many, this gift will replace unsafe or outdated fans, while others who don’t have air conditioning now have a safer and more effective way to stay cool. Something as simple as a fan can make an incredible difference in health, comfort, and peace of mind.
We are grateful to Cheryl Christino, Walmart Operations & Replenishment Manager at Lasko, who helped coordinate this donation and made sure the process was smooth from start to finish. Thanks to her leadership, and to Lasko’s commitment to community outreach, veterans in our area will stay safer and more comfortable this summer.
We were able to capture some photos of grateful recipients. These smiles are proof of the positive impact Lasko has made in the lives of those who served our country.
Thank you, Lasko, for standing with veterans!

Today we shine our Spotlight on Service on Armstrong Street Scene, a community partner whose passion for giving back roared louder than the engines at their Car & Custom Bike Show!

This generosity will directly help us continue our mission of serving veterans in need, providing vital resources, and honoring those who have sacrificed for our freedom.

On July 5th, our regional Grayson, KY office hosted a heartfelt Car Show to benefit Veterans’ Outreach. It was a day full of community, connection, and compassion. One of the most touching moments came when the Post Commander, who had spent the entire day with the team, called Regional Manager Polly Rafferty forward during the trophy announcements. To her surprise, she was presented with a beautiful compass—a meaningful symbol of direction, purpose, and guidance—values we all strive to uphold in serving our veterans.
This gesture wasn’t just about the event; it reflected the deep bond and ongoing support shared between Veterans’ Outreach and the local American Legion. As a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Polly sees firsthand how much heart this group pours into our mission. Nearly every month, they donate food to our Freedom Food Pantry, ensuring that no veteran in need goes without.
Dedicated members like Richard Dallaire, Susan Fogal, and Carol Rucker go above and beyond—not just supporting our organization, but truly becoming part of our extended family. Polly shared how blessed she feels to work alongside such generous, caring people. What began as a partnership has blossomed into cherished friendships.
It’s a powerful reminder of the unity, service, and compassion that continue to drive our mission forward. Together, we make a difference.
