You may have had a less than easy time determining your Meta-type. The common reason people may find it difficult is that they’re usually under so much stress, their metabolism has become either hyper or hypo-active causing them to “flip” or catapult out of their “normal” type and become a different Meta-type altogether.
The stress response is governed by the pituitary, hypothalamus, and adrenal endocrine glands.
Hormones secreted from these glands shut down the more regenerative parasympathetic nervous system and speed up the action-oriented sympathetic nervous system and the metabolic rate of the body by liberating great amounts of blood sugar into the bloodstream. During this state, the body simply can’t break down and utilize any nutrients or energy released from foods. So, the energy used up in the stress response comes directly from your body’s reserves, the energy stored in your muscles, rather than coming from the foods you eat. This is known as the “fight or flight” response and it’s valuable in overcoming difficult or even dangerous situations.
There’s a flip side to this coin, however. The body has to “pay its dues” for getting such quick results because by the end of the stress response, the body has been significantly changed.
This response and its stress stages are supposed to last for only a short while, hopefully, for no more than the brief duration of the stressful situation itself.
Prolonged stress, however, can be disastrous. Automatically, a ing as if they were a different Meta-type, which can result in illness and disease. person will flip out of their natural metabolic type into another one, either “hyper” or “hypo” – and begin function, This is why it is crucial to restore balance.
Just as each of the six Meta-Types has its typical personality, characteristics and physical behaviors, so does each type have its typical ways of getting out of balance. Remember, each of the six Meta-Types have a dominant endocrine gland that “runs the show” in other words, that stimulates most of their energy.
Each Meta-Type automatically has a natural affinity for the food groups that stimulate their strongest endocrine gland which gives them that “energy high”, such as salt which stimulates the Accelerator’s adrenal glands. If a person is tired, sick or under physical, emotional or mental stress, they begin overeating these foods to gain that energy high and so they become “comfort foods”.Their dominant endocrine gland becomes over-stimulated causing food sensitivity to those specific foods and possible allergic reactions but NOT giving the body what it nutritionally needs.
This individual is now in a hyperactive state and out of balance, so those foods are needed inn greater amounts. But the dominant gland can’t sustain that much stimulation without being given the right nutrients. So, its ability to operate begins to decline and becomes weak giving rise to “cravings” for those specific foods. In time, the endocrine gland’s inevitable collapse occurs and you’ll be in a hypo-active state.
When an individual slips significantly out of balance and type, I say that he or she “flips” out of their healthy and natural Meta-Type. We’re all familiar with this, when we say about our mate, boss or friend that, “They have really not been acting like themselves lately.”
I call this the “Pendulum Effect.” A continual response to stress can cause a person’s own metabolic profile to become hyperactive. If greatly exacerbated or prolonged, it can even cause them to soar right into a higher profile putting added pressure on their endocrine glands. For instance, a Mixed Accelerator–being hyperactive and under continual stress–can skyrocket right into the Balanced Accelerator profile, putting undue pressure on the thymus gland. Unable to sustain energy at that high level of stress, the Mixed Accelerator will begin swinging back–like a pendulum–passing right out of their natural type and falling down into the Mixed Synthesizer profile. Now, they’ve become hypo- active. They’ll continue on in this fashion until the stress abates, they become ill or they have learned how to control their stress.
The ACCELERATOR Categories
The Accelerators are high-powered, energetic Type A personalities and are the ‘movers and shakers’ of this world. They naturally have an already high metabolic rate and the stress response can cause their metabolic rate to speed even higher. If the stress response continues for extended periods of time, their bodies retain the nutrients that stimulate and excite their system, such as:vitamins A, B², B³ [niacin], B5 [pantothenic acid] and the minerals: potassium, zinc, manganese, iron and magnesium), while losing the nutrients that calm and relax (such as: the amino acids tryptophan, glutamine, GABA and the mineral: calcium.
Their body loses its ability to calm itself. Their anxiety levels zoom to new heights stimulating addictive habit patterns, allergic reactions can sky-rocket, their blood pressure shoots up, their system eventually can’t sustain this pace and it starts breaking down. Eventually, their energy producing dominate endocrine glands dominated by the sympathetic nervous system become thoroughly exhausted.
The Accelerator’s unbalanced metabolism “flips” them out of their own Meta-Type and into the Synthesizer category ending up in a ‘hypo-active’ state relying on their weaker glands (the pituitary, pancreas and sex glands) dominated by the parasympathetic nervous system for energy and sustenance. They become horribly lethargic, moody and isolated.
In a “hypo-active” state, their parasympathetic glandular system begins to weaken spiraling them on a downward spin including the beginnings of depression. They now require volumes of food that can be 30 percent larger than their normal food intake and now require it cooked, because they can’t break down and absorb nutrients. Their digestion slows to a halt.
Or if they remain “hyper-active” without flipping into the Synthesizer category, their anxiety levels double and triple, their insulin levels sky-rocket and they just can’t calm down. They find it extremely difficult to pull out of this state as their emotions become buried in a mire of anxiety. Heart attacks and strokes could be right around the corne
On and on go the Accelerators until they crash again, further being “flipped” into a deeper downward spiral. In this state, they’re really feeling NOT well and sick most of the time. The last “somersault,” is the worst one of all when they finally flip into a state, where their bodies have become totally inefficient and can absorb only 10 to 15 percent what they eat. By now, the chronic and degenerative stages of disease have set in.
The Synthesizers are happy, calm, “nothing makes me angry”, Type B personalities. They are slow movers but powerful and possess a great deal of reserve energy. When stress becomes intensified in the Synthesizers, it’s action shuts down their slower physical metabolic rate because their less effective “metabolic boosting glands”, the thyroid and adrenal endocrine glands,Mare busy stimulating and sustaining their body’s response to stress. Their glucose production speeds up triggering their pancreas gland to produce high levels of insulin, immediately turning the glucose into fat rather than it being stored in the muscles as energy.
The Synthesizers easily exhaust their sympathetic nervous system’s glands, (the adrenals, thyroid and thymus glands) being highly stimulated by the stress response as well as their own dominant endocrine gland in trying to keep up with the action generated by the stress. With their energy producing glands and their own dominant endocrine gland exhausted, they “flip” downward into deeper energetic levels of their strong parasympathetic nervous system.
They now need the energy produced by other endocrine glands in their body which are dominant in the other Met-Types, i.e., the Synthesizer (the pituitary gland), Balanced Synthesizer (the pancreas gland), Mixed Synthesizer(sex glands) or Mixed Accelerator (the thyroid gland). With undue pressure put upon their body’sless effective endocrine glands (the pituitary, pancreas, sex glands) they begin to react to the energies of that less effective gland and start displaying the characteristics of that endocrine gland’s dominant Meta-Type.
For instance, the “pure Synthesizer” can “flip” right up into sympathetic nervous system dominant Accelerator Meta-Type even though their pituitary and adrenal glands are exhausted or down into the Balanced Synthesizer Meta-Type if undue pressure is put on their pancreas gland or even the Mixed Synthesizer if the energetic needs are placed on the sex glands.
When out of balance, the Synthesizers can become irritable, high-strung and have insomnia. They can even become an “emotional monster” to friends and family. Their usually “happy” emotions turn into negative “thunderstorms” or are repressed to the point where they become virtually paralyzed.
With the Synthesizers weakened sympathetic nervous system which can’t sustain the pressure, it begins to “crash”. Their blood sugar levels “yo-yo’,” finally soaring then plummeting to disastrous levels from insulin over-production, causing horrific fatigue and terrible weight gain.
Their weakened adrenals can’t sustain the challenge of the heightened stress response and they constantly go from high-to-low causing anxiety-to-depression. They finally “collapse,”plunging them into severe depressions. They eat out of emotional need and to get energy. Their weight gain skyrockets, irritability ensues and illness begins to raise its ugly head.
At this point, the Synthesizers are hardly getting any nutrients from their food. They need greater quantities of food to absorb any nutrients at all and their weigh doubles and triples. Finally, there is no place else for their body to go. Their health is in serious trouble and they need to make significant changes quickly.
If you’ve answered the Meta-Type questionnaire on this website or in my book, Your Body, Your Diet and have found that you are almost evenly divided between two types, you are in the Pendulum Effect and you’ll be exhibiting habits of either the hyper or hypo profile as well as your own. This would be the Meta-Type just above or below your own natural profile. This includes the processes that produce and expend energy and break down substances such as food, air, or water into the simplest components of pure energy.
I refer to this type of energies expressed in mankind as the Accelerator Meta-Types, who are completely opposite Synthesizers and are the movers and shakers of the world.
Synthesizers as vegetarians can become sickly and weak, while Accelerators on the same dietare robust and healthy. Synthesizers who consume mainly protein daily remain in excellent physical shape, while Accelerators on the same diet would suffer extreme sluggishness and a cholesterol “blow out.”
Western science sees our metabolism driven by the body’s nervous system which is divided into two parts – the central nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system controls our metabolic processes, and is ALSO divided into two parts, the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems (again duality).
The parasympathetic nervous system keeps our bodies running smoothly. It’s the source of the rhythm behind our breathing, the regularity of our heartbeat, the efficiency of our digestion and the repair and regeneration of our body providing balance and stability. The effect on our metabolism is to help us slow down, cool out, rest and rejuvenate.
The sympathetic nervous system keeps us poised for action. It prepares the body for the activities of life giving us the ability to expend energy in situations that call for strenuous physical activity, enduring emotional stress, or emergencies that call for the body’s “fight or flight” response. It’s effect on our metabolism speeds us up, moves us forward, and makes sure we get things done.
These two, interdependent parts of the nervous system work together. Impulses from one set of nerve fibers activate, while impulses from the other set inhibit to create and maintain your body’s balance which is the key to a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
Bringing together the philosophies of both Eastern and Western worlds, you can see that we are governed in varying degrees by either the Yin feminine energy/Parasympathetic nervous system or Yang masculine energy/Sympathetic nervous system.
The Parasympathetic/Yin metabolic profile is known as the Synthesizer Meta-Types and the Sympathetic/Yang metabolic profile is known as the Accelerator Meta-Types. Under the Accelerator Profile, there are 3 types: Accelerator, the Balanced Accelerator, and Mixed Accelerator.
Under the Synthesizer Profile we have three types: Synthesizer, the Balanced Synthesizer, and the Mixed Synthesizer.

Before you take the Meta-Type test that enables you to know WHO YOU REALLY ARE and change your life forever, let’s look at the five cornerstones of the Metabolic Balance Program which makes my program work. You must FIRST determine if you are a healthy vegetarian, a healthy omnivore (½ protein – ½ carbohydrates) or a healthy protein-eating carnivore by taking the Meta-Type Test.
The Accelerator categories require a semi-vegetarian to vegetarian diet, while the Synthesizer categories a semi-omnivore to carnivore diet. Carbohydrates are the fastest burning foods while animal proteins burn off slowly and fats burn off the slowest This is why the metabolic types require different foods.
The Accelerator’s lean to being fast metabolizers because they’re driven by their strong energy producing endocrine glands (the adrenals, thymus and thyroid glands) which speed up how they break down food, converts it to energy and utilizes that energy. Their food breaks down quickly, it mixes with less oxygen in the stomach. When the oxygen-free nutrients reach the cells and transform into energy (ATP), that energy will burn off at a slower pace providing long-term energy (oxygen incites energy to burn at a rapid rate).
The Accelerators also have less nerve stimulation to those organs of digestion and regeneration (pancreas, stomach, small intestine and colon) so they tend to produce less stomach acid (HCL-hydrochloric acid). With their ability to burn off energy at a smoother pace with a lowered production of stomach acid, the Accelerator categories require the lighter, faster burning and easier to digest carbohydrates. If the Accelerators eat heavier proteins, they’ll feel sluggish and lethargic. The leisurely digesting proteins require ample stomach acid for digestion and would also burn off too slowly as energy.
The Synthesizer’s lean to being slow metabolizers. The organs and endocrine glands of repair and regeneration energize them (the pituitary, pancreas and sex glands). They have little nerve stimulation to the powerful energy producing glands of the Accelerators that stimulate fast food breakdown. Synthesizer’s foods tend to digest slowly and mix with ample oxygen in the stomach.
When the oxygen-rich nutrients reach the cells converting into energy, they burn off at rapid rate (“air fans fire”).
With abundant nerve stimulation to the digestive and regenerative organs, the Synthesizer’s produce ample stomach acid. Therefore, the Synthesizer’s need and require the slower burning heavier proteins. If they eat lighter, fast-burning carbohydrates, the resultant energy burns too rapidly, triggering a swift energy spike followed by a rapid energetic slump.
They end up with lethargy and fatigue. Sugar cravings will begin to recapture that energy high. The pancreas overproduces insulin trying to maintain a steady flow of the body’s blood sugar. Instead of turning the blood sugar into stored energy in the muscles and liver, insulin’s action turns it to fat and you become an instant fat-factory.
REMEMBER: Fast metabolizers break down their food and transform it into energy rapidly – but use the energy slowly (slow oxidizing). Slow metabolizers break down their food and transform it into energy slowly –but burn it off rapidly (fast oxidizers). Slow in – fast out; fast in – slow out.
When we look at the three Accelerator Meta-types and three Synthesizer Meta-types, the percentage of animal proteins to carbohydrates for each would look something like this:

Each Meta-type is controlled by a certain endocrine gland that controls certain organs of the body, i.e. the regenerative Yin Parasympathetic energy stimulates the Pituitary gland, which controls the whole repair and regeneration of the body. The Pancreas gland rules digestion and blood sugar stability and the Sex Glands are responsible for reproduction and sexuality.
The powerful Yang Sympathetic energy stimulates the Adrenal glands, responsible for producing energy for the “fight or flight” Stress Response, daily activity and supporting metabolism in our body. The Thymus gland governs the immune system and the Thyroid gland is responsible for our basic metabolism (the body utilizes energy) and energy production. Together, these functions control and are responsible for the different metabolic profiles found in people.
Based upon a person’s genetic predisposition, an individual will fall under one of these categories exhibiting a dominant endocrine gland and an opposing weaker one. This helps to determine what their preferences are to certain interests, emotions, intellect, metabolism, and lifestyle – why some dance and some study math, why some are outgoing, others shy, why some eat for consolation, and others forget food when they’re upset.
Eastern Medicine states that the high-energy Yang metabolism is acid by nature. The slower Yin metabolism is alkaline by nature. The acid or alkaline nature of an individual indicates the acid or alkaline pH value of their blood, lymph and tissue and also what foods they require.
The pH values between the alkaline to acid natures runs approximately from 8 – 7.5 to the 4.5 – 4 range:

FOOD is also divided into acid and alkaline divisions, but when we speak of the acid or alkaline pH of foods, we’re referring to the nature of the end products that foods leave in your body after they’ve been digested, not foods in their uncooked or cooked state.For instance, lemons are more acid in their raw state but their end- product or residue is more alkaline. This residue refers to the ‘ash’ or the end-product of a food after it’s broken down in the body and stored in fat cells. This will create more acid or alkaline blood and body conditions which can lead to either a healthy, slim, toned and vibrant body or a body subject to disease.
One of the key secrets to HEALTH, losing weight and keeping it off is to eat the right acid or alkaline foods to stabilize each Meta-type’s acid or alkaline base. Accelerator’s tend to be acidic in varying degrees and require the more alkaline balancing foods found in green leafy vegetables and fruits, while the alkaline producing Synthesizer’s benefit from the more acid forming foods found in proteins.
For instance, the pure Accelerator (very fast metabolism) is the most acid of all the Meta-types and requires the opposite foods of the pH spectrum, strong alkaline, to stabilize their metabolism. The Accelerator’s diet should contain foods that are strong alkaline, alkaline, weak alkaline and weak acid. Foods that are acid forming should be seldom eaten if at all and foods that are the same as their own pH values – strong acid – should be avoided.
The higher the Calcium content, the more alkaline the food residue will be and the higher the Phosphorus content the more acid the residue. Stress is a killer! I can’t emphasize enough the importance of stress management in your attempt to re-gain your health! Stress is the critical factor that causes people to “flip” out of their Meta-Type and sets into motion food cravings, fatigue, lethargy and susceptibility to bad health and illness, in other words, Metabolic Breakdown!
The stress response is governed by some of your most powerful endocrine glands, the pituitary, hypothalamus, and adrenal glands. Hormones secreted from these glands shut down your more regenerative parasympathetic nervous system (which governs Synthesizer Meta-Types) and speeds up the action-oriented sympathetic nervous system (that controls Accelerator Meta-Types) accelerating your body’s metabolic rate by dumping huge amounts of blood sugar into your bloodstream.
Your body’s response to this prolonged stress, weakens your ability to digest, break down and utilize nutrients or energy from foods. The energy that’s used in the stress response comes directly from your body’s reserves, stored in your muscles, rather than coming from food. This is known as the “fight or flight” response and it’s needed when overcoming difficult or dangerous situations.
There’s a flip side to this coin, however. Your body must “pay its dues” for getting such quick energetic results. Depending upon the amount of stress and its length of time and when the stress response ends, you’ll find that your body has been significantly changed:
The Stress Response has 3 main stages during which minerals that excite the body are retained and minerals that calm the body are repressed.

Automatically, you’ll “flip” out of your natural metabolic type into another one, either “hype” or “hypo’” and then you’ll start functioning as if you were a different Meta-type which can result in illness or disease.
Most people get stuck in the 2nd stage, the Resistance Stage and never make it into the regenerative 3rd Stage. They are usually unable to cope with the situation. They can’t let go of their emotions, their resentments or their pain. Their anger builds and they simply can’t accept the situation. Their sympathetic nervous system continues to run at “breakneck speeds” and the parasympathetic nervous system completely shuts down causing:
You understand now why it’s so essential to keep your response to stress to a minimum! Stress can be an EVERYDAY experience; you can’t avoid it and you must learn how to cope with it!
Mixed Accelerator Balanced Accelerator Accelerator
In the Accelerator Meta-Types, stress causes their insulin levels to skyrocket and their anxiety levels escalate. They can gain or lose weight, become hyperactive, can’t calm down and their immune system begins to shut down making them vulnerable to illness or disease! “Pure” Accelerators
In the Accelerator category, you as the “Pure” Accelerators, exemplify the energetic personalities of the Gods and Goddess of Antiquity. You are the most yang and “action oriented” of the Meta-Types. You are controlled by the sympathetic nervous system and the adrenal glands are your dominant endocrine glands. You are better known as the “Speed Kids”, which DO NOT need extra “outside” stimulation! You get plenty of energetic nerve stimulation from your own thoughts, self-induced stresses and stifled emotional reactions along with the stresses in your daily life.
If out of balance or overburdened with stress, we can visualize you as a comet we let loose into the Universe that’s not equipped with gravity so to pull itself back into a uniform rotation or state of equilibrium. Hyperactivity is the first sign the Accelerator Meta-Type is becoming imbalanced due to stress which causes their “power-glands”, the adrenals, to overproduce its hormones: dopamine, ephinephrine, nor-ephinephrine, cortisol, androgens and aldosterone.
That “adrenal high” causes the Accelerators to crave meat, salt, caffeine, sugar and alcohol to keep that “energy high” going. You’ll gain or lose weight; your anxiety levels explode and you can become a competitive workaholic.
Accelerators will have sleep problems, even insomnia along with water retention and a lowered sex drive. Your less effective pituitary gland’s functions slow down, causing your endurance to disappear, your clarity and thinking dulls, your energies fluctuate, weight increases and your sex hormones diminish.
If your response to stress intensifies, you the Accelerator can become horrifically hyper-active, extremely aggressive, over-assertive and a compulsive workaholic. You can go from being healthily competitive to being mean, rigid, power-hungry, and even cut-throat.
In this hyperactive state, your adrenals become unstable and may “burn-out” causing allergies, high blood pressure, chronic inflammation and arthritis. You’ll suddenly turn “hypo-active” and “flip” into the unbalanced Synthesizer Meta-Type, craving sexual activity as a substitute for dealing with your feelings.

You are the most balanced of all the Accelerator Meta-Types and are predominately governed by the sympathetic nervous system. You are more acidic than alkaline and fall in the middle of the Accelerator category, between the very acidic Accelerators on one side and the semi-acidic, semi-alkaline Mixed Accelerator on the other. You must learn to maintain your own body’s equilibrium.
Balance is your key word! If out of balance, you easily jump into the adrenal dominated Accelerator Meta-Type where you access extra adrenaline whenever you desire. Balanced Accelerators have a strong creative intellect and intuition and can trigger instantaneous adrenal energy which makes you susceptible to living in an on-going stress response and subsequent adrenal burn-out.
The Balanced Accelerator’s hyperactivity as a response to stress shows the beginning of metabolic imbalance.
This continued hyperactivity stimulates your “power-gland”, the thymus which then begins overproducing it’s hormones causing a hyperactive immune response.
You’ll begin craving sugar, sometimes meat. Your weight increases, your anxiety levels skyrocket and auto-immune problems could surface such as, arthritis and allergies. Your less effective pancreas gland slows down considerably causing the shutdown of your digestion. Your blood sugar levels wildly fluctuate causing more weight gain, increased sugar cravings and a tendency towards hypoglycemia.
With continued stress, your great anxiety will cause you to become “hyper-active” and you can easily become a carbon copy of the Accelerator. You’ll flip up into a highly workaholic mode, losing your “balanced state”, focusing totally in your mind or on material or monetary gains and ignoring your great intuitive powers. You may even end up isolating yourself while compulsively focusing on power and acquisition.
In this hyperactive state, you unbalance and exhaust your adrenals resulting in an imbalance of your sex hormones, water retention, chronic inflammation and allergies.

There you can become very emotional and may have difficulty releasing these same emotions. You’re the only Meta-Type in the Accelerator categories that receives almost equally strong impulses from both the yin parasympathetic and yang sympathetic nervous systems. You are the “Accelerator Bridge” that integrates both nervous systems as well as their aspects. You feel deeply but tend towards the intellectual Accelerator side of the metabolic spectrum and may even rationalize your emotions, “stuffing them down” and not expressing them freely.
Your dominant thyroid gland acts as the “bridge” between your two major nervous systems but you can easily get pulled out of your metabolic profile from one side to the other if the thyroid gland has become imbalanced from overwork.
Your primary nervous system domination is governed by the yang sympathetic system causing any imbalance due to stress to pull you into the faster energy producing Accelerator categories.
However, deeply buried emotions, needing to suddenly erupt, can just as easily pull you into your complementary yin parasympathetic system and out of your own Meta-Type.
Unlike your two Meta-type partners, who easily intellectualize and bury their feelings, you have deep feelings that lie very near to the surface. These emotions can easily overpower your rationalization if held in check for any length of time and will ultimately erupt. That triggers an emotional stress response stimulating both your adrenals and thymus into hyper-action and your thyroid into overdrive. A continued emotional response will eventually cause your now hyperactive thyroid to crash leaving you with only marginal energy.
The Mixed Accelerator’s hyperactivity begins when you’re hit by a stressful situation and your “power-gland”, the thyroid gland, begins overproducing its hormones signaled by your adrenals which have activated your body’s stress response. This action can first cause weight loss, insomnia and food cravings. But weight gain is inevitable as the constant pressure ultimately lowers, then weakens and almost shuts down your thyroid’s function. If your less effective pituitary gland weakens and goes out of balance, weight gain becomes the problem.
The pituitary constantly stimulates the thyroid glands thyroxine production. That stimulation will cease as the pituitary function weakens. Without normal amounts of thyroxine in the body, you’ll start craving breads, pastas and starches. Both conditions, weight loss due to thyroid hyperactivity or weight gain due to thyroid hypo activity can cause fatigue, hair loss, irregular periods, imbalanced sex drive and menstrual cycles.
When under extended stress, the Mixed Accelerators can become “hyper-active” and easily “flip” up into the more negative aspects of the Balanced Accelerator Meta-Type. When out of balance this way, you might focus only on the immediate goals ahead, usually to do with a monetary situation.
You start living totally in your head and may become power-oriented, insensitive to the needs of others and an isolationist. You also may lose interest in your sensuality and sexuality. This hyperactive state can soon repress your thymus gland’s energy and you’ll be vulnerable to immune problems such as colds, flues and chronic immune problems.
The Mixed Accelerators can easily “flip” down into the Mixed Synthesizer Meta-Type as they become “hypo-active”. You may become extremely emotional. Your feelings may build to a “fever-pitch” and then suddenly blow open and explode in torrents of rage and anger which can seem to “come out of ‘nowhere”! Your libido may be heightened, then suddenly fall and you may end up with sex gland and menstrual complications. Along with your starch cravings, you’ll begin craving sugar, spicy foods, fats and creamy foods.

STRESS slows the Synthesizer Meta-Type’s metabolism way down to a “snail’s pace”. They begin to gain weight, their depressions set in and they end up with fatigue and lethargy. Their already slow immune system almost crashes and they become the “veritable couch potatoes” and rundown.
Synthesizers are ruled by their emotions and can easily lose sight of reality and logic. They can become “emotionally overwhelmed” plunging them into emotional denial and triggering depressions. This state keeps them in the Stress Response’s 2nd Stage of Resistance which ultimately leads to illness!
The Synthesizers must also learn to let their emotions flow into their rational thinking processes which will help them release their emotions and end the Stress Response. They must accept the situation and “let it go”! The Synthesizers are much MORE vulnerable to the Stress Response than any of the other Meta-Types, so it’s much easier for them to be prone to sickness!

The pituitary gland is your dominant endocrine gland, the “Master Gland of the Body” and it DOES NOT need any “outside” stimulation! It gets plenty of its own natural stimulation produced by your own thought processes, your self-induced stress and your emotional reactions.
If your pituitary gland becomes highly over-active, you’ll be in a state that triggers your need to have overabundance in everything! During your pituitary glands most active energetic nighttime hours, it produces certain essential hormones for the regeneration or growth of your body. If it becomes over-stimulated, an overabundance of the hormones will be produced causing you to have an overabundance of growth or weight gain in your body.
The “Pure” Synthesizers hyperactivity begins when your “power-gland”, your pituitary is over-stimulated by stress and in turn over produces its hormones including growth, sex and adrenal hormones. You’ll begin craving chocolate, milk, creamy foods as the pound’s pile on all over your body. You may even have unbalanced libido, erratic moods and energy swings. As your less effective thyroid glands slow way down, your already slow metabolism will grind to a halt and you’ll not be able to lose an ounce of your excess weight.
When you, as the Pure Synthesizer, become “hyper-active” you’ll sky-rocket directly into your mirrored opposite, the Accelerator Meta-Type. You’ll become extremely compulsive about work, especially creative work and you’ll be highly anxious and irritable. You may even experience insomnia. Hormone problems may surface, especially with the over-production of your “sex” hormones.
Not being able to sustain that energetic high, your body will start to plummet sinking you into abject depressions and you’ll become paralyzed. Because of this hyperactive state, your pituitary over-produces your growth hormones and the pound’s pile on. You’re now further exhausting your energy producing adrenal glands and you’ll plunge into a hypo- active energetic state. As your governing and strongest endocrine gland, your pancreas gland, known in Chinese Medicine as the seat of your “Emotional Brain,” DOES NOT need “outside” stimulation! It gets plenty of stimulation on its own and from its neighboring Meta-Types glands, your pituitary (Synthesizer) and your sex glands (Mixed Synthesizer) which are in turn motivated by your own thought processes, your self-induced stress and emotional reactions.
The Balanced Synthesizer’s hyperactivity begins as your “power-gland”, your pancreas starts over-producing its hormones due to your body’s reaction to stress. You can easily become “hyper-active” whenever you experience anxiety, then your emotions become highly stimulated. You can easily “flip” up into the Mixed Synthesizer Meta-Type energies where you may very often play out this emotionality through sex and sensuality, often in a compulsive manner.
In this hyper-active state, you can soon exhaust your sex gland’s energies causing a severe decline in your libido. Sex gland complications (irregular menstrual cycles for women and low testosterone levels for men) and severe fatigue can occur.
If you become “hypo-active”, you can just as easily slip down into the pure Synthesizer Meta-Type’s energies feeling and feeling to the point of becoming paralyzed and ultimately falling into a stagnant depression. In this hypoactive state, your pituitary function can easily be overworked, then weakened causing your complete system to go out of balance.

The Synthesizer’s Meta-Type’s strongest adversary is STRESS. It slows the Synthesizer Meta-Type’s metabolism down to a “snail’s pace”. They begin to gain weight, their depressions set in and they end up with fatigue and lethargy. Their already slow immune system almost crashes and they become the “veritable couch potatoes” becoming sluggish, then ill.
Synthesizers are ruled by their emotions and can easily lose sight of reality and logic. They can become “emotionally overwhelmed” plunging them into emotional denial and triggering depressions. As a Mixed Synthesizer, you are under the specific domination of the yin parasympathetic nervous system and your meta-type is the only one that receives almost equally strong impulses from your complementary yang sympathetic nervous system. Therefore, your Meta-Type acts as the “bridge” integrating both nervous systems, as well as their aspects but is governed by your dominant parasympathetic system. You predominately feel with a powerful emotional nature but have a strong pull towards the intellectual Accelerator side which gives you potent intellectual powers such as clear thinking, along with rational and linear perceptions.
Consequently, your Sex Glands, the dominant endocrine glands for your Meta-Type DO NOT need “outside” stimulation!
