SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA

Despite issues with food insecurity, access to health care, governance and corruption, Africa’s positive trajectory can be accelerated with sustained support from global development professionals.

We’ve worked across the continent for more than 20 years in partnership with local organizations and experts as progress has been made on many development fronts.

Many countries have graduated to middle-income status, such as in Ghana, where we’ve worked to strengthen health systems and improve monitoring and health interventions.

Today, our experts also focus on helping decision makers program aid wisely, by implementing several monitoring and evaluations projects for USAID (Senegal, Kenya, Ghana and Mozambique), as well as focusing on governance and access to justice in Mali.

North America 13 Sep 2023 1:38 PM (2 years ago)

NORTH AMERICA

Our innovative solutions are not just applied overseas. We apply the same analysis and critical thinking to important projects undertaken in the U.S.

From a modest start in 1981 providing consultancy services to USAID, we now work with more than a dozen clients right here in the U.S. – from government agencies to Fortune 100 companies and major philanthropic organizations.

Our work spans a wide range from strategy, evaluation and analysis on democracy and governance, CVE and education – to our innovative work on scaling up development solutions.

We have also designed and delivered hundreds of training courses and coached senior development practitioners on results-based planning, strategic communications and more. Our organizational development specialists have helped numerous entities reimagine their structure and coach staff through transitions.

At our core, MSI still excels on large-scale evaluations, assessment frameworks, including our award-winning evaluation report, From Aid to Trade. This analytical work frequently leads to the development of handbooks and indicators to help inform USAID strategies and programs, including The Anti-Corruption Assessment Framework, and the Guide to the Drivers of Violent Islamist Extremism.

Middle East, North Africa and South Asia 13 Sep 2023 1:22 PM (2 years ago)

MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AFRICA AND SOUTH ASIA

While the Arab Spring ushered in a period of new power dynamics and subsequent conflict, we look to build on 30 years of uninterrupted programming to nurture the unleashed seeds of transformation.
From disaster recovery in Yemen to critical monitoring and evaluation services in Afghanistan, we join the people of MENA and South Asia to build a better future for every citizen.
We will stick with the people of the region through upheaval and the political, social and economic winds buffeting the region. We start with analytics to understand the causes behind the effects that shape realities. With Tetra Tech’s presence in each MENA country, including permanent offices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, our ability to reach every country and support each unique opportunity to stabilize and advance the region is unbeatable. Our programming supports every level of society, from a decade-long partnership with national and provincial authorities in Iraq to improve service delivery and build capacity to community-level resilience strengthening and youth programs in Morocco. Today, we are working in Jordan to evaluate and improve program outcomes, in Syria to assist with demining efforts and community outreach, and in Morocco to improve learning systems. In Pakistan, we are helping USAID monitor and evaluate its programs in some of the most difficult-to-reach areas of the country.

Latin America and the Caribbean 13 Sep 2023 1:12 PM (2 years ago)

LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

Proximity and cultural affinity have long made Latin America and the Caribbean critical to U.S. trade and security. We have spent over 30 years fostering cross-border relationships from Mexico to Brazil.

The region represents a diversity of contexts, from emerging middle market economies like Colombia to formerly successful nations like Venezuela now struggling with uncertainty.

We have worked in nearly every country in the region to reduce crime and violence, strengthen civil society, improve economic conditions and empower marginalized communities to have a greater say in their communities, particularly those affected by conflict. For nearly a decade in Mexico, we have worked hand in hand with the national government and regional partners to bring about significant reforms to the criminal justice system. These reforms bring a presumption of innocence, pre-trial services, public oral trials and increased transparency. In Colombia, we support an emerging peace process while strengthening the ability of Colombian regional governments to deal with a refugee crisis on the Venezuelan border. Our regional data collection capabilities and analysis help USAID missions develop innovative programs using collaboration, learning and adaptation methodologies.

Europe and Eurasia 13 Sep 2023 1:00 PM (2 years ago)

EUROPE AND EURASIA

From Kosovo to Tashkent, we have supported the development of a vibrant and free Europe and Eurasia for over 30 years.

From data collection and analytics in the Baltics to legal education programming in Armenia, our work embodies evidence-based learning and ensures that policymakers use data to drive decisions.

For instance, we are helping the Ukrainian government fight pervasive corruption in every part of the country. We work with citizens anxious to create a level playing field for themselves and with government ministries strengthening anti-corruption units. Our data collection and analytics support evidence-based programming across the Baltics. We have been active in the region since the 1990s, starting with civil society programs in Russia. As the pace of development picks up and increasing economic and social ties bind the region to the international community, we will continue to provide technical assistance and know-how to increasingly sophisticated colleagues across the area.

Asia 22 Aug 2023 11:51 PM (2 years ago)

ASIA

From Indonesia to the Philippines, we have witnessed major political and economic transformations – making it the fastest growing region in the world.

The region’s challenges are daunting – it is still home to roughly half the world’s extreme poor, and pandemics and natural disasters pose an even greater challenge to delicate systems.

Today, we are working in Bangladesh to fight violent extremism, and in Indonesia to fight endemic corruption with innovative approaches. In Vietnam, we are carrying out performance and impact evaluations, monitoring services and other studies which contribute to higher-level results and development effectiveness.

Our implementation is grounded in technically-sound analytical work, such as that we carried out for more than five years for USAID’s Asia and Middle East Bureau (AME).

We focus on stability by building lasting relationships with local organizations and hiring skilled local experts who will ensure that programs take root.
