Looks like you have to use this plugin with a WP install that is in your ROOT directory. It will not work with a secondary directory WP istall.

I am trying to use this with a test WP 2.5 site and it will not accept any usernames I enter into it and thus I can't even get into my site. I have to remove the plugin via FTP. Any ideas.

I recommend: disable the cron tasks, disable the plugin, uninstall the plugin, reinstall the new version, activate schedules again. You can leave your backup archives within you backup repository.

The database user you are connecting with is not allowed to execute DROP TABLE statements. You need add DROP permissions fro that user.
